OK - whoever it was was a patriotic American who got them to pay.

Okay, lets require money or raw materials from other countries for our help. So Venezuela says that they need help against Bolivia. Do we question whether it is legit or do we just bomb Bolivia because Venezuela promised (maybe they'll pay, maybe they won't) to turn over uranium to the United States. If soldier dies doing Venezuela's business, does their family get a cut?
I think a million per family from the sponsoring country would help.
If it were a war for profit, that would be bad. But, if it is a war we would fight anyway, why not get paid?

How many times does one have to be WRONG to get your attention? Or are you betting on the U.S. not lasting LONG ENOUGH to use the existing resources in the U.S.?

If you want your grandkids to pay $20 a gallon for gasoline and $5,000 a month for heating/cooling that's fine with me, but I don't want mine to have to pay that.
BOE in the Permian Basin alone is estimated at 50 billion by knowledgeable industry people.
The US uses around 10 million barrels of oil per day for internal non export business.

5000 day supply right there - 13.7 years

Plus, the Bakken, Eagle Ford, Louisiana, offshore in the Gulf, Alaska, California, friendly Canadien's tar sands....we have enough to get by....no reason to screw around in the Middle East.

You know Timmie tard, I may be (or maybe not) the only one who has a "Ditch" poster on my wall. That means I went through the Suez Canal, not once, but four times. General Sisi is pretty isolated right now. His only friend in the region seems to be Israel. It sure isn't the US. What does it take to close the canal? Sink a couple of ships in it, drops some mines in it are two things that come to mind and have been done once already (see Nasser).

Whew, I thought that JDIdiot was going to next say that the missing Boeing 777 (Malaysian) airliner was actually hijacked (a year ago) and is now cleverly parked on the bottom of the Suez Canal. Under the cover of water resistant shrub camouflage, of course!

Carry on!

I'll play along with your numbers and math ...

How much will gasoline be per gallon when we get down to the 1 billion remaining?

And when will that be?

Who told you Egypt controls the Suez canal?

So if Egypt decided it didn't want any more ships to enter the canal Egypt could put up a "no trespassing" sign and keep them from entering? It lacks the legal authority to do so.

Sinking a ship or ships in the middle of the canal at the appropriate locations closes it.

http://www.eia.gov/naturalgas/crudeoilreserves/

"Reserves" ... not "projections" ....

That was as of 2013.

http://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=20432

I've seen those "projections" before and usually associated with bank loans!

The loans that went bad from a dry hole or "anemic" production!

Then go do a comparison on what we import to add to the mix and maintain reserves. If you look at our "current" consumption that does not consider "growth" and "expansion," nor does it factor "exports" ... all which GROWS our economy.

When our economy depends on international trade for growth, you want "isolationism."

Keep them out of the United States if they are radical. We could accomplish this by making the price of applying for citizenship match the cost of a thorough FBI investigation of each person attempting to come here. [/QUOTE]

That will never fly. The goal in any immigration " reform" is to increase the Democrat's voting bloc. The Liberal/progressives/ socialist want to make immigration as EASY as possible, with the promise of free handouts. All paid for by the American Tax Payer.

It is worth it to allow a few terrorist to slip through in order to insure a secure vote.

Much like the Great Society Programs born in the 60's. Who cares if Blacks are herded into Givernment Projects, if they have their Familly structures destroyed, and have their heist crime and out of wedlock birth rate.

As Lyndon Johnson said......."we will have those n...... Voting Democrat for the next 100 years.

The current administration is removing them faster than we can put them on the list.

"Oh, you're from Iran! You are "good to come on IN!"

And without even mentioning how the hell they will be IDed, even if they come through a legitimate international crossing point! We don't know who comes into this country, or what happens to them after they get in. That's why we can't round them up and send them back home. Our government doesn't even know where they are!!! The word is out!
