...and it's not just them....half the guys are full of shit too.
I think the funniest is around tax time some guys will post something bitching about their taxes in specific numbers, as if to suggest "if I pay this much, imagine what I make
"
Sometimes I wonder why, on both sides. Truthful or not, does it feel good to boast about it on a message board? Are numbers inflated for the sake of projecting an image or protecting a reputation? In the case of the ladies, a "brand" so to speak?
I find some irony in this. I general I was raised not to talk too much about money one way or another, but to the extent there was/is boasting it was about the value or deal I got, not how I paid top dollar for something. Instead of "look at my new car over there, paid $80k
" it was "yeah, she's a beauty, got her for 35% under MSRP because some golf pro drove it for a week when the Tournament was in town
"
But in this "business" it is kind of taboo or unseemly to boast about the deal you got. It is not appropriate to say "I found this gem for $200 bucks/hr and she stayed well beyond the hour. She's maybe in my top 5 of all-time
& much better than the gal I paid $1000 last week for a 2 hr session."
