Without debating what exactly insurance covers or doesn't, that is my point exactly: the popular view is that either "insurance covers it" or "some big company can afford it." In either case the costs are ultimately passed on to us as consumers.

The interesting aspect of the current PR blitz by the White House flaxs is their mantra that the debt ceiling must be raised !

But they won't tell us how much they want it raised !

Like the prevous CRs they should raise the debt ceiling in small increments; extracting REAL cuts along with constitutinal limits on spending.

The Republicans have alot of leverage I hope they use it wisely. Otherwise they will lose the Tea Party.

VERY true Marshall. I called my Congressman (Republican) and was told they had the "Democrats running around scared and not knowing what to do" by caving in on the 2011 budget deal. What a load of crap!! They cut the variance of the 2010 budget vs. 2010 outlays to get the $38 billion in spending cuts. Truth is, they didn't cut any actual spending.

Yesterday it was reported that OPEC is cutting oil production because of a world glut. Today it was reported that locally we have 7.5 % less gasoline than a year ago so gas prices are going up quite a bit more over the next week.
