Second Amendment verbatim: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
More recent Supreme Court decisions focus on the second half of the wording.
Abundant historical evidence indicates that the Second Amendment was meant to leave citizens with the ability to defend themselves against unlawful violence. Such threats might come from usurpers of governmental power, but they might also come from criminals whom the government is unwilling or unable to control.
I’m ok with some very minor gun control legislation but by the individual States, not the federal government. And as pointed out, what good are any laws if not enforced fairly and uniformly?
Finally as Adams stated, “our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
With the inclination of new immigrants (legal, undocumented, or permanent residents) not to assimilate, breakdown of the family, and truly a lot of immoral (excluding the occasional philandering, of course, and exchange of information for such purposes herein) and non religious folks, I’m going to need to keep my guns and ammo. Of course I need to be at the ranch, cause here in the city when things go to shit, you’ll run out of bullets!

Still, the GOP is lead by those restricting freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit.
Leading to the radical reaction.
So there. Nerd.

Enabling is an interesting word.
I suppose your question would get a variety of opinions.
Now to return to the topic...how to have criminals have less access to guns.
Reply if you have an answer for that. If you have no answer, don't reply.

It doesn't do anyone any good to live in constant fear.
Lindsey Graham is the premier example of pearl-clutching legislators.

I wouldn't lock them up for life (why give them a free ride for the health care the state gives them?) but lock them up until they're 60 or so. they're less of a threat and they're not roto rooting gang boys.

Not the Op topic. Sorry, try the bathhouse channel. Barry Sotero is waiting for you there. This OP is gun control not criminal control. For gun control, it's practice, practice, practice. For criminal control, we have laws and jails. For mental health issues, we have you as the poster boy.
