TG has sure put himself in some interesting positions in his short time here, wouldn't you say?
Anyone that reads the threads has witnessed nTG's escapades. It's been interesting watching the new guy try to blaze a new trail rather than follow the beaten path. The new trail obviously has it's pitfalls and quicksand. But like most of life it's a learning experience. I've met the guy fur drinks and he brought some phat ass cigars. He's about what I expected from his posts. He's younger than I thought, but I don't think he's gotten himself into anything he can't handle. He may be a bit over confident, which may be the source of his complications. But he's capable of taking care of himself and getting out of situations his confidence gets him into.

That all may be true but none of that addressed my point.

And if we ever meet for drinks...i hope you more discreet!

Discretion is the greater part of valor...
The whole purpose of meeting him for drinks was to get it out in the open that he wasn't a manhandle. It would serve no purpose to meet and not disclose it.
Believe me WTF, if we ever meet... I ain't admitting that to no one!!

First rounds on me BTW

Our views of discretion may be different.

How did I fail to address your point?
I mentioned his escapades and how he got himself into various pitfalls by blazing his own trail. I think I covered any issues you addressed.

My point was not how he got there or how he could escape from there but that he was there... in the middle of it.

Once logging in from Fancy's computer...next reviewing xoxo...next by his gossiping comments in the review.

I do not think that Forrest Gump happenstance but i could be wrong.

But, we're all volunteers here, therefore resources are limited. I'm sure you understand that not every infraction review warrants or motivates an equal amount of staff attention. It's a matter of prioritization.

Further, there are certain gray areas of the guidelines where moderator interpretation and discretion are a larger factor than others. Hijacking happens to be one of those. Not all of the moderator staff share my philosophy on hijacking but for the record I voted to reverse those points of yours.
I was pretty sure you voted that way. Hippos are bellwethers for moderating.

What gets me the most....and my case is a perfect example....is the inconsistency. I've got several pages of points and warnings. The first time I was pointed, I broke rules I didn't fully understand (repeated email corrospendencing thinking the rule was only for PMs) and I got pointed. Lesson learned.

Then there has been the occasion that I got a warning....and warning was the right thing to do although pointing would not have been unreasonable. I felt lucky my fuck up escaped points although they wouldn't have destroyed me. For instance the last warning from the hippo. My words "on the one hand, fuck him" were meant to be a guide to the other poster and should have been "on the one hand, tell him to fuck off"

The warning was appropriate. Points just the same.

There have been other warnings were I should have just been pointed...matter of fact. Pointed.

Clearly there is so much inconsistencies around here. These outing cases are good examples.

In my last case, a mod felt he had lost control of a threAD that was useless shit anyway and the only benefit of the thread was making fun of a bitchy whore and running up click count for the advertisers.

The op changed the subject for the umpteenth time because she was losing and I get pointed for replying to a direct comment she made to me. Hey, it's my only 5 points right now so that's not the point (no pun). The point is that we chronically have inconsistent moderating (which was rampant in that thread) and often have shoot-from-the-hip "pointerating" when really no harm was done even if the infraction would have been correct. We all stay for the drama and humor and paraphrasing pp himself, Houston would be a fucking ghost town if every infraction here resulted in points.

We'll see what comes out of my complaint. But as long as the points stand, I can nag about them.

That in itself is worth 5 points.

gnight mitches

Okay, he got himself into a few bad situations. Right from the gate. His first few threads he started put him in the spotlight and under the microscope of many, including the staff. So every mistake that was made went through scrutiny. And he made his mistakes. What I first mentioned as confidence can also be construed as arrogance. And always "pride goeth before the fall". His decision of foregoing the normal screening process turned around and bit him in the ass. Maybe he got what he deserved? Maybe it's just part of the learning process. wakeup says there is no karma... another thread shows he may be wrong.

OK, HH. Let's try this on for size. This is just for discussion, as TG has been determined to be in the clear.

Here are some of the things we would have had to check out. How do you know you met TG for drinks and a cigar? I believe you met a guy who told you he was TG. I believe you had drinks with someone who knew all there was to know about TG. And it just so happened that he was what you expected from his posts.

But, how do you KNOW that the fellow you met was really the member who has been posting as TG? By reading all of his posts, I think I could convince you that I was TG. But wait. There were those pesky PM's that ya'll sent each other. Sure was a good thing that I was given copies of all those before I was sent to meet you.

As I said, there are all moot points as TG has been cleared. But, it could have happened. Sometimes things are not quite what they appear to be. So we have to go digging. Sometimes things are very clear.

So the guy who is posting as TG (me) says that I met HH in real life - in real life we talked about our correspondences, his recommendations, life, work etc, I return from the meeting to post as TG that I met HH in real life...

But I might not be me? There's a conspiracy of men determined to convince Hardhat that TG isn't who he says he is?

I *am* paranoid, but that's a whole new level! Hardhat and I never exchanged phone numbers, nor does he know my real name. What's the point? Where's the secret setup?

We talked about that too - nothing that we talked about, or that I'd talk about with anyone would concern me even with LE present - there's no proof. Our reviews and posts are obviously fantasies written for entertainment purposes only about fictional women.

Who knows. Drink more!

Okay Pete, I see your point, and the thought crossed my mind. Even before the meeting. You have to admit that's a pretty elaborate scheme just to meet a fellow hobbyist. And even if I was able to vouch for him, just how much weight does my word carry? Very little I would imagine.
This was just a meeting of two hobbyists to discuss some of the goings ons of the board. I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I do pay attention to some of the things said here. And contrary to some peoples opinions, I'm a nice guy and willing to offer a helping hand when I can.

And the list of "what if" are brung out of the arsenal to continue beating the dead horse....
Not for the point they make.... but to poke you with a stick....

" 'Cause nobody wants to
see Marshall no more they want Shady
I'm chopped liver
well if you want Shady,
this is what I'll give ya....."

Something along those lines...
Hum along, we all know the words...
