Jay Haas may have provided the best possible answer to a tough or unreasonable question. He was leading a tournament, and a reporter asked him about some current political event. His answer was something like:

"If I had made a couple of bogeys today, you guys wouldn't even be talking to me. I don't think my opinion matters."

Great news they all got banned by the PGA today and I'm happy they stood up to all those who defected.

... I'm on the side of the other lads... The PGA Board is loaded
with shithouse rats who surely believe they are the Kings of
the sport. ... Well, that is the PGA and China.

Greg Norman has characterized this incorrectly as the era of "free agency". If I understand it correctly, free agency would be within a league. If instead, you decide to go work at a different league, for a different company as as independent contractor, that is going to a competitor......remember all the alterative football leagues that have tried to compete with the NFL ?

I think the PGA Tour is just an organization that hires independent contractors. If they want go somewhere else as an independent contractor, that is up to the individual. It shold be good for golf and golfers that there are more tours to play....but who knows ?

The PGA Tour has characterized it correctly.

I still think they get to play in the US Open, maybe the other majors also, unless they are run by the PGA Tour.

... Ah, I don't think so, mate.
Surely seem to me that the PGA is tryin' to be "politically correct"
when it's NOT a political issue... They don't want anyone else
competing with them for Event times and what-not.

Obviously they are NOT hiring-on "independent" golfers at all
- IF they're gonna restrict them from playing in non-PGA events.
Just sayin'

Wrong

Organizations can decide which independent contractors they want.

... As I mention - not very "independent" if they aint allowed
to play where they choose. ... PGA Officials surely must have
learned their restrictive views from CHINA.

Nope. They learned it from Ronald Reagan, who created the modern age Contract Worker. To let Employers get out of paying SS and Medicare tax. And despite the law that says Employers who control an Emplyees work hours, must pay those taxes, it costs too much to fight in court. and your ass will be fired long before a Court date can be scheduled.

I'm glad the PGA tossed those greedy Bastards. Who needs them? The Tour is plenty competitive, let those Circus Ponies play for Murderer money.

China money is murder money. What does that have to do with the topic?

You disappeared the same day Bambino was banned. There must be a conspiracy angle you can promote.

... Merely the simple fact that you seem to considour
the Saudi League "murderer money" while the PGA is chummy
with China. ... OK for the PGA to take China's money?

Just wanna understand where the morality play separates.

I don't agree that the PGA is chummy with China. Not in the slightest.

An independent contractor is an independent contractor.

An organization is free to decide who to contract with to perform work for them.

In this case the PGA Tour has decided they don't want golfers that have signed on to the Saudi tour to perform work for them.

Phil with a moustache ?

It feels like the comic book days reading Superman and the bizarro world Superman.

Or perhaps Phil and his evil twin.
