Actually ESPN reported that it was last year, and Seattle lost to the Cheatriots..
#1 Defenses are 10-2 in the Superbowl, anybody know who the other #1 defense was that lost a Superbowl?

Was number one defense that lost a superbowl the"purple people eaters" (Vikings) coached by Bud Grant? In the 1970's they made it to the superbowl four times but lost all four games. Wikipedia reports they gave up the fewest total yards three times in seven years.

The problem with the Texans is that they think they can do what Denver did but with Hoyer but Hoyer is no Manning. Never going to work

From my lightning quick research, DED....and a thanks to the fine record keeping of Football Outsiders (using their DVOA analysis: Defense-adjusted Value Over Average; ie: total defense with rushing / passing defense separated)....it was Super Bowl XLV played in Dallas. Y'all remember that one, right: half the continental U.S. was plunged into an arctic deep freeze......we got hit with a solid coating of freezing rain, ice, etc, basically shutting down the entire Metroplex....so much fun
Anyways, Steelers came in with the #1 ranked D....and lost 31-25 to the Packers #7 ranked offense.

DED....I figured as much. And I wasn't about to dog pile you and Steeler Nation over it either. It is what it is, right.
It's funny though....as a fan, no matter how many wins our fave team stacks up, the losses (especially those in the championship games) are the ones more seared in our memories than the W's. Personally, if I never see another clip of Starr's quarterback sneak or Jackie Smith dropping that pass, I'd be just fine....

Now the Million dollar Question will Rick Smith have the balls to trade up to get a QB? Wentz, Goff, Lynch? I don't think any will be available at No. 22. Will McNuttless mandate they draft a QB?
For all you Kubes Lovers giving him props remember this.
McNuttless had to step in and pimp slap Kubes into hiring Son of Bum back in the day. Prior to that Kubes hired Frank Bush and Richard Smith. Kubes also brought in Rick Smith. He also turned down Peyton Manning for Dopey. Fucked up our franchise countless ways!!!!!
Kubes lucked into a great organization run by a true leader - Elway.
Lucked into a great set of defensive players
Lucked into a HOF QB to run the show
Was at least smart enough to bring in Son of Bum to run the D.
Fuck Kubes!!! Fuck McNuttless!!! Fuck Rick Smith!!!

And there it is; an absolute that remains true...the epitome of getting that Big Break, whether in life / business: It's not always what you know....but who you know.
No matter. Give Kubiak his due for knowing it was right to sit Peyton when he did ....AND when it was time to hand him back the reins. Whether it was pure luck or not, in the end, it worked out. Today Denver has a 3rd Lombardi to display on their mantle piece. And it could be the turn of the next century before the city of Houston and whatever NFL franchise plays there accomplishes such a feat.
By the way....once he was cast out of Indy by idiot-owner, Irsay, did Manning (even for a nano-second) really entertain coming to Houston to play out his remaining years? Yeah....didn't think so.

The Texans were in decent shape when Manning was cut loose and it was widely speculated by many that Peyton wanted to come to Houston because it appeared that many of the pieces were in place to make a title run and Dopey was the only problem. McNuttless came out and said "We have our Quaterback" referring to Dopey!!!! Peyton Manning was dismissed by McNuttless and Kubes for Dopey!!!!!!! FACT!!!!! Kubes and Peyton have had some tension and it is obvious. Kubes wanted Peyton under center running his bullshit rollout Denny's menu plays, Peyton made him run the Pistol more because Peyton is light years smarter than Kubes!! Make no mistake, without Peyton the Bronco's do not win Super Bowl 50!!!!

Nice urban myth but the reality is that at that time the Texans had cap problems and could not offer Manning anyway near what he got in Denver. He basically would have had to sign for the vet min. Heard something very interesting on drive home today. The Fat General said that John Elway wanted to be GM and interviewed with McNair and he was turned down

Texans are going after Brock Osweiler in Free Agency. I like it because we all know Rick the Dick Smith doesn't have the stones to trade up for a young QB!!
Sounds like Denver was trying to keep BO on the cheap too. Well cheap by QB Standards.
Maybe Dopey can reunite with Kubes again in Denver!!!!

If you are Brock do you stay with a team that just win the super bowl or go with a team with no offense and only 4 winning seasons

He stays (unless a team.....and all it takes is one.....$illy-$lap$ him with ca$h). The current Bronco defense may have one-maybe two more Super Bowl runs remaining in them (and Elway comes across as savvy a GM as there is in the league; ready to re-position the team for more Lombardis). It'll be interesting nonetheless.
