yeah they do know each other more than casually , that came from Jones's son in an interview right after Belichick resigned.
Jerry gave Parcells control of the roster because he as 2 rings Bill has 6 rings (8 total he was Parcell's's DC on the Giants staff) so Jerry probably would be willing to give control but history shows Jerry would eventually meddle. the dude can't help himself
Jerry's biggest problem is his ego and the fact he's desperate to win a Super Bowl with a team he built without Jimmy Johnson
hard to say what interest Jerry had in Bill, if he even made an inquiry to Bill's interest. he might not have preferring to wait till he decided to stay with McCarthy or not, when you are talking about Bilichick every sports news hound on the planet wants a scoop and if it got out Jerry called Bill about coaching the Cowboys before firing McCarthy it could strain the situation since he decided to stay with McCarty
