Yes, the unemployment numbers were a nice surprise. But I warn you and other Trump supporters not to put too much emphasis on the state of the economy helping Trump. The economy was in solid shape in November 2018 when Democrats took 40 Republican House seats and 7 Republican governor seats. There is much more in play than just the economy in the minds of voters.

On that we agree. But I said years ago that Trump would win Texas in 2020 but not come close to the 9% margin he won it by in 2016. Texas is becoming more purple every day. As is Arizona.

I'm having a difficult time believing the polls. Trump's approval ratings are dropping like a rock. At this point in time in 2016, Clinton led Trump by 2% at the national level. Biden currently leads Trump by almost 7% today. Biden has solid leads in the states of Michigan (+4.2%), Pennsylvania (+4.0%), Wisconsin (+3.4%), Florida (+3.4%), Minnesota (+5.0% but only 1 poll done), Nevada (+4.0%), and NH (+4.6%). Biden leads closely in the states of NC, Ohio, and Arizona. Only in Texas and Iowa, 2 states I never considered to be battleground states, is Trump winning.

What does all this mean? In my opinion Trump is in dire trouble. He trails Biden in 10 of 12 battleground states. About this time in 2016, Trump trailed Clinton but the gap started to close and by election day he was surging. Trump has a sizable advantage in money and I'm sure he will be using it in the battleground states. Unfortunately for Trump, everything he does is appealing to his base but does nothing to incent those undecided voters to vote for him. His handling of the death of George Floyd has been a political disaster for him.

Trump supporters keep saying that the Trump surge will come. We are now less than 5 months from election day. And recently all the numbers are moving in the wrong direction for Trump.

Every study done on voter fraud, including a study done by the Trump team, has come to the same conclusion. There is no widespread voter fraud in this country. Currently 5 states conduct elections via mail-in voting. No voter fraud has been found. All states allow mail-in voting under certain circumstances. No voter fraud has been found. I am allowed to vote by mail. It is next to impossible for someone to vote in my stead.

So when you cry out, without proof, that mail-in voting and illegal immigrants voting is rampant in this country, you are peeing into the wind.

Can someone post a link that shows all the evils of using it in the past? Never heard a complaint from service men overseas.
And seeing that official licenses are sent via postal service, I haven't read a wide spread abuse of individuals doing confidence games using stolen licenses.

There was an economist on Chris Wallace's show pointing out that these unemployment figures might be just a statistical anomaly and we will have to wait for the next set of figures to see.


It was bizarre for DT to evoke Floyd's name in connection to these employment figures when unemployment among blacks actually went up. So much for sensitivity, but ignorance and callousness pervades the Trumpistas.
