There a lot of rubbish talked about walking v. jogging v. weights v. sprinting.
Of course, if you do sprinting for an hour you will burn more calories and fat than walking for an hour. DOH!!!
Of course, if you do sprinting for an hour you will burn more calories and fat than jogging for an hour. DOH!!!
But, and here is the point - do you really really want to burn fat? Then jog for WELL OVER AN HOUR. The first hour burns mainly carbs. Then after an hour all the carbs are burnt. Then you start serious fat burning. There are no carbs left to burn.
But you have to do it for over an hour.
If you are going to exercise by walking, you have to do it for over 4 hours.
Every day!!!!
Actually you don't need to do it every day. Do a 2 hour jog once a week, and then 3 lots of 90 min jogs during the week. Then add in a session of 10 x 800m faster intervals, or maybe 12 times sprinting up a hill. Yes there are some in Houston.
Start off with a 10 min jog, and increase by 10% every week.
Then, wonders of wonders, you will lose weight.
Pansying about with 30 mins a day in the gym is not going to get you anywhere.
Of course, diet is the other side. There's a book I'm searching for which has all this in it. Give me a second.
I enjoy my Sunday 14 mile 2.5 hour runs because I know my trainer tells me I need to take on protein ASAP after finishing. I need it. Plus, you should see my trainer
