1. while professional help may be what you need, i suggest your first write down all the pluses and minuses. now, take away the pluses.
what do you have?
imagine all the minuses that others have [just look at any part of the metroplex].
what do you have compared to others.
if you decide you need professional help, start w/ counselors or therapists before you go the psychologist, psychiartrist, medical doctor route. your employer may have an Employee Assistance Program.
2. dont ever take your family for granted. you dont want to be the guy on t.v. whose kid or wife died in an accident or shooting and kick yourself in the ass and say "i should have loved them more!!"
spend time with them now!! and even if you wind up divorcing her, stay in friendly contact. she is your son's mother.
3. pick up and read "How to want what you have." a very very good book.

4. as interesting and fun and cool and wild as Shep and Jason may be,
until you figure out what you have and what you want, i'll go against other's wisdom and say
DONT go out w/ Shep and Jason unless you think you can handle and control yourself when you step off that sexuality cliff with them. unless it's just for some beers or such.
take it easy, but take it!
just be sure what it is you're taking.
