Almost all presidents have done so, but Bush-2 & Obama have taken it to an art form. And the hate press point it out more (on oth sides).

Not quite as bad as Andy Jackson, but then he had no artistry in his approach, just a sledge hammer to the head.

It's wrong, but nothing new.

Eric Holder: Gun Owners Should 'Cower' in Shame Like Smokers

The hot new video at MRCTV.org is 1995 footage of Attorney General Eric Holder, when he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. In his remarks before the Woman's National Democratic Club, broadcast by CSPAN 2, Holder said people should be ashamed to own guns, just the way that cigarette smokes now "cower outside of buildings" to smoke.
"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we’ve changed our attitudes about cigarettes. You know, when I was growing up, people smoked all the time. Both my parents did. But over time, we changed the way that people thought about smoking, so now we have people who cower outside of buildings and kind of smoke in private and don’t want to admit it.”

The main reason I keep my guns is so I will never have to cower, anywhere.

The difference between smoking and gun ownwership is smoking is not included in The Bill of Rights.

Sooner or later, everything the President or Congress does in regards to Guns will be challenged by the words, "Shall Not Be Infringed".

One thing that does bother me is how The Attorney General swore an oath to protect oand uphold the Constitution, but in the same breath is carrying out a public war against that very Constitution.

As the Chief Law Enforcement Official in the Country, he should not be able to pick and choose what parts of the Law he likes, and what part he dislikes. He is sworne to uphold ALL laws.

And the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.

Im still trrying to understand exactly how Romney sidestepped the constitution and passed a permanent ban on assault rifles when he was a Governor

This thread is totally dishonest. It obvious from watching the clip that Holder is talking about discouraging the glorification of gun violence in popular media, and NOT about ostracizing gun owners in general. You have to be either a moron, dishonest, or both to get anything else out of that.

Obama and Holder also announced, a year ago, that they were not going to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). They chose to ignore a law enacted by Congress. Obama signed an executive order essentially enforcing The Dream Act that failed to get through Congress. In both cases, he's ignoring the law.

Obama is governing outside of his legal authority and no one is trying to stop him. I wonder how far he will go.

Hot new video? So you like black guys huh?
To each his own, I guess.

Where does he make that statement in the title? Oh he doesn't does he?

So the author is a liar as well as you are for posting it?

So there is nothing new by either of you?

So have you ever sucked a dick bigger than mine?

Answer honestly. No one knows who you are.

You're splitting hairs. Holder said gun owners should cower and he said they should be ashamed. It is true that he didn't use the phrase "cower in shame;" but, if he wants gun owners to cower and he wants them to be ashamed, then it logically follows that he wants them to cower in shame.

Maybe a better title would have been: Eric Holder: Gun Owners Should Cower and be Ashamed Like Smokers. It sounds about the same to me.

PS
People might take your posts more seriously if you could stop talking about your dick.

So did I, I tried to help by quoting more of the speech and suggesting people actually watch the video, but I was completely ignored, they don't want to loose their blanket of prejudice.

You wouldn't know the truth if it hit you over the head like a train.

He never said that.

He said smokers cowered, see 00:57.

He never said gun owners should cower.

He continued at 1:00 'and that is what I think we need to do with guns'.

Now, this is interesting - the continuation at 1:00 does not make sense, he is not talking about gun owners but guns, so what is he talking about?

Now, note carefully dipshits and dipshitesses, there is an edit at 1:00, clearly a deliberate edit to bias the video. There is a bit missing, and this pernicious edit is just the kind of thing which the malicious media use to influence the idiots and dumbos.

The media edit has clearly fooled most of you here.

Anybody man or woman enough to admit they have been fooled by the edit?

I analysed this a bit just to make a point about how gullible people can be, probablyu a similar analysis would dismiss most of the other dumbo so-called quotes which are used.

I'm always very careful about that. I don't trust the dry cleaners with it. I just hand wash it in Woolite.

Yes, I know, you only post this rubbish because you want to work out who the idiots are who believe it, it is always a kite you are flying, you know perfectly well it is rubbish, you on occasion show that you are not as foolish as your posts makeyou appear.

You are just kite flying to help identify the idiots so you can laugh at them.

You are probably a democrat who is trying to make tea nuts shoot themselves with nonsense.

Fifth columnist.

You've been found out, comrade Joe.

Don't kid yourself I'm no liberal, not since college. I'm convinced Obama, Holder and most of the radical left want to completely disarm private citizens. That's the only way they can have their socialist utopia. The left wants the federal government to be all powerful.
