This whole thread made me giggle. I've never been asked for change but it's heartening to know that most wouldn't request it in the first place.
Maybe you should start keeping rolls of quarters in your nightstand, then you really can provide them with "change". lol

I make it a point to have the bills on hand to pay exactly, even if I have to stop somewhere on the way to buy a Diet Coke or a pack of gum to break a larger bill.

On the subject of fees... ATMs hand out only twentys these days. (Mine at least) it is easier for all if the fees were a variation on that theme.

I was so pissed a couple of weeks ago when I used an ATM at a Hilton in Atlanta. I requested $300 and received six $50 bills. What a pain that was. The gift shop wouldn't take them and since I wasn't a guest at the hotel they wouldn't make change.

Once I got two $100 bills at an ATM in Vegas. Thankfully it was easy to make change.

there is an atm in my neighborhood that does the 100 thing! It is ia pain to many ladies but there was one who that a 100 was a blessing....she was a very special lady who I miss a lot but time marches on'
