Yeah, grandma's pizza was the same.
No mozzarella, she never heard of it, claimed it was an American invention.
Had to beg her to keep the anchovies off, yuck!
Those old timers loved that Romano cheese, it's like eating salt.
I imagine their idea of pizza was a lot healthier than what we eat now.

A place near me has a great Puttanesca Pizza. Sort of appropriate for this board. Google the origin of puttanesca.

Yes he did, wonder if that's why they opened a Jim's Steakout across the street after he closed.
I just remembered all the hot sweaty girls in shorts and tank tops that Rodney had working in the kitchen. I always came way too early for the pick up just to watch them. hehehe

Funny pics gp and wd!
I have to agree drluv (ugh) about Parri's off 390 on lyell.
I liked pizzeria uno when it was in marketplace mall, but once it franchised out more, the stopped the handmade process. I did eat at the original unos in chicago. It is must see if ur ever there. If in chicago, also see the landmarks from the blues brother's movie.

The best NY style pizza in Buffalo is Zetti's. It isn't as good if you take it home, but if you get a slice of cheese and eat it there......there are no words.... But just cheese. He's got all of the fancy shit, like BBQchicken, veggie, etc, but just get cheese. Trust me.
The best regular pizza (buffalo thicker crust) is probably Bocce on Bailey.
