I think it's safe to assume the problem is worse today. It's not likely the Muslims are going to reform their behavior or stop breeding like rats. As the percentage of Muslims increases, their behavior becomes more and more violent. American Muslims are relatively well behaved compared to European Muslims because their percentage of the population is still very low.
This increase in aggressive behavior, tied to number of Muslim converts, is actually based on the Koran and the tactics of advancing Islam in the early days of the religion. In the early days of Islam, the Mecca period, Mohammad's tactics were relatively mild. Later, in the Medina period, after Islam had gained more followers, the tactics became much more violent.
From what I've read, the Muslim problem is getting worse all the time in Europe. A big part of the problem in Europe is that the native Europeans are not reproducing at replacement level and the Muslims are reproducing at twice the replacement level. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. The growth is mainly from reproduction not conversion.
