I have a number from USAToday. It is from last year and it is less than 5% with democrats taking the most hits.

Now what I did find were a number of LOCAL stories about how more independents are being registered than democrats or republicans. Not surprising now that the primaries are over. But the highest number I could find was only 40%, not 80% like some idiot posted. The information is there if you go looking for it.
