Great post, SHS. Only thing I’d add is that, if you have SO/family, there’s that potential mess to consider. Extended detention or legal expenses can be difficult to explain.

Plus, if you hire a lawyer you are looking at 5-7,000 to fight it and will still probably lose. You do NOT have to be charged or convicted of a crime. It's the same tactic they use against the cartels. It's about a 60+ million dollar a year boost to police budgets. If you had 3K cash, same tactic. Stay frosty my friends.
