Can you please cite your source for this? Unless otherwise specified in a particular statute, it’s my understanding the SOL for felonies are generally 3 years in Texas. I read this particular bill and do not recall seeing any specific carve out for a 10 year SOL.

No doubt. But the point is this isn’t a one-party issue. My understanding is that the Democratic house member was the driving force behind this bill. A Republican introduced it in the Senate.

This was a online sting to arrest child predators. All child crimes. Most were online specific and the “sting” was with a federal agency statewide. News worthy and less said due to public perception on trafficking.

Authorities were cagey about releasing too much information, but based on their public statements it was both online and street. Three different jurisdictions were involved (TC, FW and arlington), so it could be that they each approached it differently.

As far as any online ops, it was never revealed what sites were used, but they did indicate they focused on sites known for non-adult and other forms of sex trafficking. No way to tell if that’s true (particularly for the former) or if they consider any advertising site a potential harbor for that kind of activity.
