You are caught lying once again. It needed a super majority to "pass".
Even at that a similar bill was introduced and bombed in the House
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nati...ity_and_Reform
The Commission's recommendations were politically controversial.[3] Under the executive order that created the commission, a supermajority of 14 of the 18 commissioners had to agree to a recommendation before it was sent to Congress for a vote.[3] In a vote in December 2010, the commission fell short of that requirement, with only 11 out of the 18 commissioners (five Republicans, five Democrats, and one independent) voting to endorse the commission's blueprint.
On March 28, 2012, Representatives Jim Cooper (D-TN) and Steve LaTourette (R-OH) put a bill modeled on the plan, with, according to analyst Ezra Klein, "somewhat less in tax increases," to a vote in the House where it was rejected 382 to 38. 22 Democrats and 16 Republicans supported the bill.

Very good, wtf! That's TWO big words you've impressed me with! "Realpolitik" and "charlatan"! Keep it up! Online dictionaries are jolly good fun, aren't they?
Try to be careful as you show off your expanding vocabulary. It's easy to mis-use those big new words "out of context".

That is wtf dishonest people would do.

Wait! I've got a better idea!
Why don't we just cherry-pick and compare obama's BEST year with trump's WORST year? Would that be viewing their records in the proper "context"?
Or is that something only a "charlatan" would do?

Once again, the debt and the deficit are two different things.
Assuming you mean the deficit and not the debt, did you even bother to read my Opening Post?
You look pretty stupid asking a question 3 times that was already answered SMACK DAB in the third paragraph of the WSJ analysis in the OP!
Do you have a point? Will you be asking the same fucking question a fourth time later in this thread?
Have you considered taking cognitive tests with Biden?

CBO says federal spending reached $6.55 trillion in fiscal 2020, as Congress addressed the damage from Covid-19 and the government shutdowns. That’s about a $2.1 trillion increase in a single year, and understandably so given the uncertainty of the threat as it emerged in the spring. Notably, and in a pleasant surprise, revenue fell a mere 1.2% to $3.42 trillion as the economy held up better than expected. The deficit came in at a staggering $3.13 trillion, or a record 14.9% of GDP.

Are you incapable of learning? Or unable to understand bar chart comparisons? I already schooled you on why we needed to lower the US corporate tax rate here:
https://www.eccie.net/showpost.php?p...9&postcount=81
Don't you think it might be smart to familiarize yourself with the numbers involved before you stupidly conclude that trump's tax cut was the driver of all our federal budget woes??
The CBO estimated the 2017 tax cut would lower federal revenues by $1.5 trillion over ten years. That's $150 billion a year. In other words, chump change.
At the same time, federal spending in fiscal 2020 (which ended last September 30) alone went from $4.4 trillion to $6.55 trillion! In other words, spending soared by more than 14 times the amount of the tax cuts you keep crying and whining about!
Anyone with even a fleeting grasp of the federal budget numbers knows Uncle Sam has an out-of-control spending problem. To deny the obvious and quibble instead about the revenue side of the equation is like saying the Titantic can be saved if we just rearrange a few deck chairs!

No actually I asked yo to compare Obama's worst two year vs Trumps worst two years.
And I asked you to compare Obama's two good years(though not his best two with Trumps BEST two years.
You can lie and distort all you want Pinocchio.

Anyone with half a brain and not a compulsive liar would know that I understand the problem. They would not lie about the tax commission Obama assembled and if one was to go back in time would see that I've been a huge proponent of spending cuts to the 3 largest programs. SS, Medicare and Defense.
Are there any more lies you want to throw out juniir?

Really...good to know since I asked and answered you bullshit distortion.
You posted a graph which did not show that instead of 5% of deficit to GDP which in itself is terrible....Trump's was well over 15%.
Now go cheer on the Capital rioters and when they get arrested pretend that you are on the side of law and order....much like you did when you cheered folks who were promoting that SS was actually a progressive tax. Then switching sides once exposed.

'w' - is much like 'lm' - the tiny tyrants post nonsensen to 'bait' and stir up controversy - then cut and run
They have nothing cogent or constructive to offer.
typical DPST/ccp marxist tyrants and control freaks .
do get some professional help - it is a shame to live a life controlled by the LSM media as a minion with no independent thought.

Can you post without DPST, CCP, marxists in a sentence?
You remind me of Rudy before Biden bitched slapped him with this line...
Rudy Giuliani - there's only three things he [needs] to make ... a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11.
