For President? You can't address reality, but have to change the stage and the facts to fit your miscalculations. Midterms are historically "against the current administration" and the 2018 gave Trump all he needed. The rest is simply bullshit, and gave him what he needed in 2020. An "I told you so"!
If you don't want the U.S. to be politically and economically successful then so be it .... that's your goal in life. But the majority of the LEGAL voters (as opposed ballot stuffing and roll stuffing) in this country want the country to be a success.
I didn't vote for Obaminable, and I was sorry he won, but for McCain on the other ticket. I had hopes that Obaminable would lead the COUNTRY ... not his friends and want-a-bes ... in a positive direction ... but insecurity cannot control itself.
This was the turning point in my mind ....
One of the dumbest things a POTUS can do. Stick his/her nose in local issues .... just to make a "victory lap" of small time law student in the affirmative action program making "good"! But it also proved he knew NOTHING about law enforcement as he set the tone for Blacks against cops!!!!
And ... that pic is a "two-fer" ... there is Stupid Joe!

It was a stupid photo opportunity. Addressing race and prejudice wasn't. It wasn't, and still isn't, a local issue.
White fear raised it's head in an unforgivable way. What right did the racist officer have for detaining the owner in front of his own home? How much knowledge of local laws does it take to point out it was a clear violation of civil rights?

A (white) woman walking by saw a black man trying to force the door and leapt to the kind of assumptions that Gates has chronicled over many years.
She called 911, and then hapless Sgt James Crowley turned up at the scene.

A neighbor called and said someone was breaking into that house unaware that it was her neighbor, Louis Gates, that was indeed kicking and pounding the stuck door to his own house. Gates was still outside kicking and pounding on the door when the officers arrived. When the officers arrived, Gates was angry and refused to produce something like a license that would positively ID him. He was uncooperative, and he was arrested because he was uncooperative.
You'd be the one with your head up your ass.

You asked which Democratic candidates ran and won in 2018. Not how many ran and won for POTUS.
Yes, the midterm elections are votes for and against the current administration. What was different in 2018 was the incredible turnout of voters, the highest percentage in a midterm election since 1914, and the fact Democrats won the House with the largest midterm margin of all time.
Trump energizes voters. On both sides. I know Trump supporters will hit the polls strongly on November 2, 2020. If Democratic voters show the same enthusiasm in 2020 that they showed in 2018, the election will be very interesting.

First off, as has been noted, mid-terms don't in any way equate to general elections.
Second, yes, it was large turnout in the mid-term, but see my first response.
Third, didn't they also "win" the Senate with the largest mid-term margin of popular vote and yet "lose" seats.
Fourth, I definitely acknowledge that the upcoming election will be interesting. Enthusiasm on both sides I think will rule the day come Nov 2020.

The loss of 2 seats in the Senate was easily predictable. 25 of the 33 seats up for election were held by Democrats. Two seats were up for grabs in special elections. Many in states Trump won easily in 2016 -- Montana, WV, Indiana, and ND. Could have been much worse for the Democrats than it was.
Pre-election analysis
The Democratic Party faced greater partisan risk in regular Senate elections in 2018, as they were defending 26 seats while Republicans were only defending nine. Additionally, the Democratic Party had to defend seats in 10 states that supported Donald Trump (R) over Hillary Clinton (D) in the 2016 presidential election. Republicans defended just one Senate seat in a state won by Clinton—Nevada.
While I agree that midterm elections don't necessarily equate to results in following presidential elections, the fact that Democrats showed such enthusiasm, which they usually don't in midterm elections, is a positive for them. In my opinion, if that enthusiasm continues into the 2020 election, the Democratic candidate will be in the driver's seat.

Yes, you and I are in agreement. At this point as other threads have shown Dem enthusiasm is waning, while Trump enthusiasm with rallies/etc is still strong.
Roughly 12 months til the Dem candidate is fully positioned. It will be interesting.

No it wasn’t. If I only addressed you and your fellow Trump Youth as boys, I’d be ignoring your Mom. So the term is gender inclusive to include The former Austin Ellen.
Why don’t you report it every time someone uses either of those words, eccielover?
Like (forbidden tiopic)friend. Or (forbidden topic) friend. Or don’t call me (forbidden topic.).
You can do it! You’ve got this on, bud-dy!
