If you choose to be part of a "society" that is governed by the irrational response to the spoken word, be my guest...I choose to not be part of it...the "scum" part being debatable as to which is which...

For someone who places so much stock in the offensiveness of words, I assumed you'd at least know how to spell them. I do not need your pity, and the fact that you are compelled to feel that about me says a lot about how much you're victimizing yourself...hope that works out for you...
P.S.-How do those points taste?

Double standard. They can refer to us as hookers, but if a guy was to give a provider a compliment then she reply's with a, "Well thank you trick " I'm pretty sure they would feel some type of way... lets me honest. If providers are Whores then so are the clients.

Because, as it is always thrown in our face - It really is for the children. They are my priority. And because of that, my time and energy are sacred. I have mouths to feed and heads to roof.
There's many things I can be doing with any particular block of my time. I could be gardening to feed my family the healthiest food available. I could be making us a home-cooked nutritious meal. I could be educating them or myself (or both) in one of our varied shared interests. I could be engaging in one of my other businesses. I could simply be snuggled with them on the couch watching TV. Or I could be spending time with a gentlemen.
Each of those activities inherently gives back to me as much as it takes from me, except for the last. For the last option to be equitable, I have to structure it to be so. And so I do.
I know my value. And it's not the amount of the donation. That $ amount is simply what it would take to break me away from any of those other activities listed. And often enough, those other activities win out.
I know my label. I am a woman plain and simple. And I am no different than any other woman on the planet, regardless of what holy and sacred names society applies to "those women" to separate how they go about the male/female interaction from how I go about it. Some are content with just dinner... I can cook my own dinner, probably better.
Some ladies, recognizing that we are indeed all the same, have chosen to embrace derogatory labels, as an exercise of empowerment. There was a discussion recently among the ladies, and I'll end this post sharing my own thoughts here ...

This may well be the best thing I've ever read here.
In fact, it occurs to me that this thread has offered both the very good and the hideously bad. I thought it was going to be merely repetitive of other threads about the same thing. Instead, we got an amazing contrast. Excellent.

I should have been more specific: this is the part of Solitaire's post that really got my attention. It's a very concise refutation of a commonplace bit of stupidity that is seen here all the time: that a working woman "sells herself" for X dollars. Nothing could be farther from the truth. What she sells, on a conditional basis, is a certain amount of her time. The vast majority of us do that, too, usually with some corporate entity as our client. The value of her time is the number of dollars needed to make it worth her while to forego the other uses of her time that are available to her. The "value" of her? As with any of us: incalculable, unquantifiable, basically infinite. She said that in fewer words. My hat's off.

Case close, leave the trash comments where they belong and may be take it a step further.....don't see clowns that view this as a place for social status.

That's nothing new, labels have been around since humans learned we weren't all the same color. Learn how to stop letting words hurt you and you'll be a better person. People call me names all the time, doesn't mean shit.

obviously words matter, or we wouldnt have a big issue referred to as "bullying."

If someone refered to my mother, daughter, or wife as a bitch repeatedly i would prrobably blow their pinky toe off and feed them to the pigs. men should treat women with respect.
Yes some women and men do not deserve respect and are treated acordingly. It is a choice to associate with people who dont respect themselves and or act in such a way as to not deserve respect. Let alone the time of day.

I have never referred to the ladies as hookers, tramps, whores or any other form of insulting stereotypical name tags. To me, they are a companion for my allotted time slot. I have always and will continue to treat my companions as a human being, just as I wish for them to treat me as a human being. My work life and my personal life don't allow time for me to date in RL, so this is my option for having a companion when my time allows. My experience thus far has been spectacular with verified companions, and I believe it is simply because I treat them as I wish to be treated. Sure I am paying them to be there, so in reality, I am no better or worse as a human because of my choice to interact in this lifestyle. 95% of my encounters are outcall, and I have had several companions just hang out with me after said allotted time slot. A few as much as 4 hours past the time slot, in their words " if it's ok, I would like to hang out with you for a while longer because you are cool to hang out with" I have never asked for that, neither have I ever denied that to them. Sometimes intimacy occurs after, sometimes not, and either is appreciated by me. Just my thoughts, treat the ladies like a human, and more often than not it is a very rewarding experience, both mentally and physically. dj8

There's no double standard at all...we're tricks, johns, hobbyists...just as you're whores, hookers, providers...they're all exactly the same...
You're the one who is attributing something derogatory to the word "trick"...why is that?
