Let's do some math here using some minimal variables.

Draft age in 1968 was 19 to 26.

"Assuming" minimal age (and you were not automatically extended to college "graduation" for an undergraduate degree or an additional year of graduate work) then you were 19 YOA in 1968 at a minimum.

I am 69 years old.

I cycle 5 days a week, 120 miles a week at an average pace of 16 mph. I go to Gold's Gym 4 days a week, spending 50-60 minutes each day working on all body parts. In an average workout I lift over 55,000 pounds of weight. Weigh 180 and bench 225. Body fat 15%. Resting heart rate 46. Chest 43", waist 35". Do not take any prescription drugs. So yes, I think I can lift my foot high enough to kick your fat ass.

For the record; a Viet Nam Veteran is anyone serving active duty in any branch of any involved nations military during the timeframe of the Viet Nam conflict.

Probably not, but a "Viet Nam Era Veteran," yes. The statistical information I had referenced was making a distinction of U.S. servicemembers who were "in-country" in Vietnam as a portion of the total U.S. servicemembers at the time.

Your belief could have well been the basis for a triggered response to a poll (census) taken at the time, which could have resulted in some distortion of the numbers, but I don't think an 80% distortion. The census was for 2000.

Had the "poll" be taken in 1970 or 1980 there well could have been a "distortion" the other way, because the bad taste of the news coverage and attitude in the general population had not yet been washed away.

As to your initial question ... one can crunch the numbers based on DOD publications available on the internet and see that there is some validity to the presentation by the veteran who reviewed the data and posted his computations, which he provides for anyone to see. His data is specific regarding other demographics and categories of information. What I posted was a "sliver" of the information posted. It certainly has more value than some of the other shit posted in this forum.

You are old. Maybe not as old as me but close. In my social circle most of the men I know are younger than me, some many years younger. The only one who comes CLOSE to being in my physical condition is another avid cyclist. Most 50 year olds haven't seen their dicks in years. My doctor tells me I am in the top 1% of people my age for physical fitness. That is why I work out. So assuming I am correct on your age bracket, the odds are 99 out of 100 that you are less physically fit than I.

So how about sharing with us?
