As I've said many times before, most of posters in this forum don't have kids or their kids are well past school age. They, especially the progressives, have zero clue of the reality of how schools are run. That the school can't discuss particulars of this case because waivers haven't been signed is a key element in this incident.

Something that should have been done to YOU by YOUR parents, had they not been so busy working the 'holes ! That would have taken a lot of beating, since you're full of shit !

The plan to create a hoax bomb was genius, really. I'm sure he expected free money and media attention. But a white house visit? His plan worked better than expected.
This kid is smart. Not for building a clock, but for fooling so many. He would make a great journalist or politician.

That would explain why there are so many conflicting stories about what happened - was this for a science project, how many other classes did he show it to, etc. What is the rationale behind requiring the school to obtain waivers? Why would the law let anyone muzzle the school's right to speak out on the facts and explain its actions? Don't parents and other students have a right to know and judge the facts and the school's handling of the matter?
.

This post nails it, concerning this kid and The President.
I have always attributed President Obama's incompetence to a unique combination of naďveté and stupidity. But yours certainly adds to the explanation.

i hope you are right Jackie. i've always suspected he's actually doing all this on purpose and knows exactly what he's doing. rather than stupid and naive that would make him dangerous and a traitor.

This was predictable
Family has moved to Qatar supposedly but is suing the City of Irving and the School District for $15 million.

Quote:
Demand letters issued by Mohamed’s attorneys on Monday sought $5 million from the Irving Independent School District and $10 million from the City of Irving in addition to written apologies from the Irving ISD and the city’s mayor and police chief.
The letter to Irving ISD alleges several violations of school policy, including that employees “disregarded the district’s written policies and procedures by detaining, interrogating and attempting to coerce a confession from Ahmed.” The letter also claims Mohamed suffered “severe psychological trauma” and was harassed by officials.
The letter to the City of Irving asserts that Mohamed’s constitutional rights were violated.
