New to a site like this I think one should do a lot of reading first. I read all of ASPD upstate ny when I first joined. To get a feel of what it was like, and if it was for me. I am not a true hobbyest(or to say play the game as most), but this is the best fit for me. Not all boards are the same. One must pick one that fits them best. Or fits best what they want to be like in the hobby. So, ture I am not a perfect fit to this board. But it is the best fit for me.

all as, from as far back as I could to the current at the time for upstate. gave me a good history also. To see if you are a fit or close, or that is where you want to take it. A few months worth would do it.

What I am looking for is probably one maybe two providers that I see on a regular basis. The fact that most of the best providers are busy and require two references to be seen, pushes me to try to develop two solid references. Twice I have had scheduled appointments with well reviewed providers and they have fallen through the day of the appointment. In one case it probably has nothing to do with me but in another maybe it does in that I am not well known and first impressions are very important here. It is easy to get associated with others whose opinions you may not share but it is hard to know when it happens. When I first started reading posts on this site, Naughtynikki84 attracted me most from her down to earth straight shooting attitude. Some others that attracted me no longer participate which is too bad. Many others such as Brookbuttons have impressed me with their willingness to participate in these posts. Using posts and PMs to overcome the need for references is most likely never going to work well. More likely it will make personal references more important so the best strategy would be to be patient and respectful and eventually the doors will open.

For those who don't know me yet, Hanna is my only public reference because I started with her and I'm glad I did. She is a real gem. I know there are others and I look forward to meeting you soon.

While this is an older thread, it still is a pretty viable one.
For instance, while I have sought the services of the ladies at long intervals over the last 40 or so years ( I go back to the days of Sultan's Roost being a good MP, the Ramada Inn a good place to meet a SP, and escorts were waaay under the radar in the pre-internet world), I have never viewed this as a "hobby", and have never before thought of registering on a forum such as this, still not sure why I have put myself out here in public. Many of the SP's I knew years ago have gone into the retirement home, and now that I have a little time, but finite funding to get out and about, the few reviews I have posted are MP's. Additionally, I am married with 4 grown kids, and the dual role thing just doesn't fit for my life, like providing a lot of personal information.

Where does it leave me? Since retiring early, I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on BP girls that may or may not be worth the time, risk, and effort, based upon some of the shaky reviews fo certain providers based there. But, on the rare occassion that I have been able to put away some "me" funds, and have looked longingly at some of the noted young ladies here for that rare but needed touch of GFE that I don't have much of, I haven't even bothered to pester them. I don't have the references, nor do I see the time when I will be able to provide them within the next year or so, based upon my level of participation. I doubt seriously that AMP reviews carry any water, of course. One poster mentioned the term Catch-22, and that really fits, because the girls sure do have risks, no argument there. Hell, I'm too old to be LE, too poor to go after 4-5 shots at acquiring references that some of the better SP's here might not even accept? I'd rather pay once in a while for a Mercedes, than every weekend for a Yugo, but if you can't even get the dealership to open the doors?

Many providers use either Date-check or p411 as a reference once you join. If you don't want to do this or give out personal information to a lady to screen her self then I have to agree with GP.... your screwed and not the way you were looking to be

Thanks, Brooke, for the input. My level of paranoia online is such that I really doubt I will give a lot of personal information to any sort of clearing house, or pay for such services (I imagine these are not free?). It might be fine for the single guys, but not in my world, I am both married, retired, and pretty neurotic about internet security, largely because of my lack of knowledge about it. Looks like it's down to learning Korean, or rolling the dice on BP.

be careful with bp... many girls are bait and switch, or just jump you when you get to the location. my advice with that would be, meet in public places such as hotel lobbies. Make sure your 100% safe. I have heard a lot of stories from many gents who used bp/cl. Research the girls... ask the guys here in the request forum. But know that some girls on bp do screen as well. You make think you have a lot to lose, ie. marriage, life, kids ect.... but us girls face a criminal record. just a thought.
