some time after the wall came out, Q102 aired an interview [some rock interview show] w/ david gilmour and roger waters about the album.

i dont remember which one described it, but "comfortably numb" was based on an incident he experienced. he was pretty ill before a concert and the doctor that came to "treat" him took the easy route and gave him some heavy duty pain killer. thus, he got all wonked out for the concert. basically said that the doc was an idiot for doing so.

still, a pretty cool song!!

thanks PT4ME for the link and reminder.

btw, i recently bought two songs from Umma Gumma ["one of these days" and the one about furry picts in a cave]. talk about spacy!!!!!

I agree, both terrific musicians, and both "gone too soon"!!!

I have about 1,200 albums, lol, (yes, VINYL) and STARTED converting them to MP3, lol. The biggest issue I found with converting analog to digital is that all the "information" has to be input manually, (artist, title, track, year, etc), maybe software has improved, but I still see no way for this info to be read from an analog source.

Long story short, after about the first 10, I decided to just keep my vinyl for "posterity", lol, and replace it all with cd's..... approximately 2,000 CD's later, lol, I now have CD's I am keeping for "posterity" as I convertd all of them to MP3.....

Here's a link for ya, spend the $12.75, convert it to MP3, re-sell the CD, frame your boxed reel to reel, and enjoy your music. (BTW, I still have my Pioneer RT-909, and a couple a' hundred reel to reels also)

Good luck!!!

Placebo - "Running Up That Hill" <---brings a tear to my deviant eye each time I hear this cover version (Kate Bush classic).

I like all your SOTD Bob.

One of my faves of all time is Kenny Loggins. Endless SOTD possibilities.

Thanks and you're welcome, bob. Music pretty much defines me and without it, I often feel lost and alone.

This next song goes out to that special someone that was once a part of my life.

Foo Fighters - "Everlong"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjyP-hGVBXo

Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong

Tonight
I throw myself into
And out of the red out of her head she sang

Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head she sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in

And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head, out of my head I sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
