If eye contact is made, at best a discreet nod  smile is all that's appropriate. You never know who is around the corner or in another aisle in either person's real world life!! All anyone needs is a child or spouse coming around the corner at the wrong time!
When I was living in San Antonio, I ended up on a SW flight next to a provider I had seen several times. It wasn't until we had discreetly established that we were both travelling alone that we had a great private chit chat on the plane.

A lot of opinions here but there is no exception to be made. Never react as if you know someone from the hobby world in the real world. Unless mutually agreed upon in advance. I've been with my kids and seen providers/strippers but never had one acknowledge me. Thank goodness.

I remember parking for a lunch biz meeting, when getting out of the car, I see walking in the middle of the parking lot towards me this lady I know well busy with her children ... When I saw it was imminent we were bumping into each other, I stopped and pretended I had to get back in my car to grab my sunglasses ...
After this, I texted her telling her what happened ... she told me: You should have said hi, we know each other ... well I didnt know if you were with family so better be safe than sorry ...
I bumped into this same lady working at a boutique at a mall while going with GF ... We just discretely smiled at each other while she was helping us ...
This is a small, small world ...
