I'll echo everyone and say it's definitely not about price. There are variables to consider when starting out and remember everyone has different taste when it comes to cigars. I love a full body strong maduro but for some it's too much of a smoke. I would recommend a Padron 6000 or 7000 or even an undercrown to start out with. They all have nice flavor and not a lot of spice. Good price point and solid construction. They are typically not packed too tight so you'll get a good draw and they are good medium bodied sticks...not too light and not too strong. Starting with a nice medium body stick will give you a gage so you can see if it's too powerful or not strong enough. Also watch what you're drinking or eating when you smoke. Food and drink can affect the flavor of the cigar. If you do decide to go with a maduro make sure you eat first because smoking a full bodied strong stick on an empty stomach can make you sick.

Happy birthday brother and that's a great way to get it started. I just picked up some JW Platinum and Blue and a few liga t52s and 9s so I'll have a shot and blow some smoke in honor of your birthday! Enjoy your weekend #botl

Just seeing this. Do you go to 1960 or 610? Just got a special box in last week for my birthday and will probably smoke a stickor two at stogies tomorrow

Man I enjoyed reading this thread. I am a cigar smoker myself. I know Poppy smoked but didn't know GoatNipples had some expertise also. I can always count on Longhorn55 to chime in.
I am stuck on Rocky Patel decade and Sungrown. I occasionally throw in a Room 101. I have met Matt Booth twice, cool guy! Love that namakubi!
And.....
Ok, everything but the comments from WU.
Hey WU, that corner at Westheimer and Winrock is jinxed I went into "Scores/Allstars" whatever. The place is nice inside and totally redone. The night talent...meh. One of my regulars worked there for a week and said "No way..". Those NAACP meetings won't happen again since 10 Downing is closed forever.
Ok..I derailed the thread. Continue
