Reality: There is no God. You have free will.

Christianity: There is a God. You don't have free will. You just think you have free will.

Christians' view of Christianity: There is a God. He's like my Daddy. He gives me free will. I can choose the path of good or the path of evil. God can choose to interfere or not. Sometimes he answers my prayers, sometimes not. He has the power to answer all of my prayers, but sometimes chooses not to.

In all three cases, a person thinks they have free will. The first two cases are the only ones that don't have huge glaring inconsistencies that you could drive a galaxy through.

First a funny one:

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...29&version=KJV

Then your homework:

http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/

You've got to defeat every single argument this guy raises or your religion falls.

Told you guys its a waste of time, people like Monger, cant live with the fact that you have a belief different than his, he will always try to prove you wrong and belittle those who believe differently than he. Instead of just ignoring this thread he has to show you your wrong and turn this thread into something it was not intended. To continue to debate it is just a waste of time and feeds his better than you ideals.

Not sure what you mean by "funny" but the first one doesn't seem odd or humorous to me.

The answers to your "homework" assignment can be found here:

http://www.tektonics.org/lp/morgand01.html
http://www.tektonics.org/lp/morgand02.html
http://www.tektonics.org/lp/morgand03.html

These "defeat every single argument this guy raises".

The bottom line on religious discussion is the same as political discussion. You can find arguments for either side. People generally decide what they want to believe and THEN find arguments to justify their decision.

It is convenient to believe in free will with NO God because then you don't have to be accountable for your actions.

Just a few post ago I asked everyone to keep their posts about the topic and not the person.

DD....don't know why you chose to ignore my request but you did. That was your last freebie. This isn't the first time we have been down this road....but it is the last. Take a shot at ANYONE again and you will be assessed warning points and depending on the situation you may also be suspended!! It ends NOW!!

Interesting that you don't really care about the discussion, only about having trolled DD into making comments about you.

"Mom! He's looking at me!"

You should be proud...

No, just that believing in free will without a God is the only way that makes sense. The craptacular quote below is from the website you linked to. The author rambled and danced around the issue, then tried algebra to prove his point. I think you can see the problem here. God *knows* what you're going to do, and that you *will* do it. But you are somehow free NOT to do it and have the power to overcome His will.

"Yet this does not erase our free choices: That God knows you will do X does not imply that you must do X, only that you will do X. God in choosing the world where you would do X makes Him the ultimate sovereign -- without absolving you of responsibility for your choice to do X."

Oh, and you're supposedly responsible for all your sins, even if God made you do them. Nice.

I somehow magically forced DD into making personal attacks against me? Maybe I am God! LOL. Or is DD Jesus because he's a troll martyr? Or maybe Bubba is God because he smote down DD?

All I'm doing is boxing in Christians with their own silly ideas. Once the box gets small and uncomfortable enough, maybe they'll think outside the box.
