I despise abortion. That being said, there will never be a consensus on the issue in the US. Both sides are too entrenched in their opinions. The fact is, until we reach an agreement on when life begins, we won't agree on abortion. I don't know when life begins. Conception? Implantation? Viability? There are solid arguments for each one of those positions. I do think viability has the most support, so I still oppose late term abortions, but other than that, I think the vague questions need to be answered in the heart of the mother, with counsel from her health care provider and those whom she loves and trusts. There are too many variables to approach it any other way.

You're a science guy! That's is laughable. So you research Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh so you can disbelieve them?

We're laughing at your episodes. When is "The Chief" going to throw the water fountain out of your barred window?

That is the biggest difference I have with all you righties that post in here....well that and you are cry babies and hyporcites.

do you believe in a truth, a right and a wrong, not dependent on circumstance, that holds?

Most liberals dont

truth or a right and a wrong is situational and dependent, not a verity but can waver and change and can be based on what one "feels" at the time, so goes the liberal.

thats why the constitution is "evolving" and living to a liberal, yielding actually no rights at all, should they be subject to change and whim.

America began with a proposition about an unchanging truth. The founders held certain truths to be self-evident.

lincoln, i think in the lincoln/douglas debates, discussed right versus wrong. his comment was wrongs can be the right of kings, but a thing that is right were common rights of humanity and not of kings (or the government).

you see, liberals wish to eliminate freedom and liberty. their world view cannot stand without force.

just wondering how a science guy and ultimate fighting researcher sees it

Exclamation Entire Panorama

You're not seeing the complete picture when you make that statement.

Suppose you were a young girl who had been raped by hoodlums that broke into your home and left you pregnant.

At that point, abortion would be the only way to clean the stain that would otherwise ruin your life.

The Supreme Court needs to look at the entire panorama of human events when it renders such a ponderous decision on the abortion issue and not just the sanctimonious ramblings of an old codger pontificating from his own limited viewpoint.

the viability argument is bogus, IMO.

And what about adoption? Is that not a viable option?

Where in the Constitution or the Supreme Court ruling does it say that tax payers must pay for the costs of abortions?

It is an option, it just should not be the only option.

It is about freedom of choice.

Personal Freedom to choose....

Trust me, if you right wingers would let private money pay for it if they so chose, I'd be all for that. Just give them that legal option. That is not really your point of contention though.

Exclamation Options

No, adoption is not really a viable option for a young girl who has been raped by hoodlums.

Why would she would to propagate the life of the villainous gang of thugs who assaulted her and have the child serve as a constant reminder of what happened to her?

Why would she want to endure the pain of carrying the child that she never asked for in her bloated body for 9 months?

Would you?

You put up a child for adoption for whom you feel some measure of love, but whom your circumstances do not permit you to raise properly.

. . . Some things you just want to forget completely!

Rape is not an incident that can be erased by an abortion, and your foolish if you believe that. Furthermore, the abortion might itself become a traumatic event in the girl's life - she may later regret her act as the murder of an innocent. Adoption is a viable alternative!

I happen to believe it is a personal choice, but I also believe it shouldn't be in anyway publicly subsidized (that goes for those little blue pills Bill Clinton provided for you also).

Default like most people pj is mistaken regarding christians

Devout christians have no problem with the death
penalty provided their beliefs are based on scripture.
The Lord gives many laws punishable by death.
Jesus never interfered in a formal execution,
nor did He speak specifically to it.
The only execution He stopped was the attempt
by the elders to railroad a prostitute that they
all had knowledge of. No suprise to anyone familiar
with scriptures. One of Jesus physical ancestors
was the prostitute rescued from Jericho.

But I digress.....
The christians pj speaks of are the self guided
i.e. lost/corrupt. God says killing murderers,
degenerates, certain thieves, and rapists
is not only permissable, it is encouraged.
It is written that the blood of the guilty
will not be on the head of their executioner.
But the blood of the innocents shall not
go unavenged.

Before you were in the womb I knew you.

Better a millstone be fixed to your neck
and to be thrown into the sea
Than to corrupt, hurt, or lead astray my little ones
and stand before Me on your Day of Judgement.

Woe to those who call the good evil, and the evil good.
Killing murderers and degenerates= good
Murdering unborn infants= evil
this is not open for debate
the matter is settled
God is not on my side.
I am on His side........well I try this fornication
thing could be the end of me. David and Bathsheba
tells you He does have some leniancy in this dept.
