Kind of a lover of cheeseburgers myself.
Fudrucker's used to be the best...a long time ago.
I prefer Chip's (Lakewood) over Jake's
And when it comes to fast food burgers, Whataburger is still the best. Unless you know the fry cook at Sonic.
If you want a big cheeseburger though... link removed -NYr
Me and little damnthetorpedoes practice with really big cheeseburgers a lot.

I've tried 'em all and it comes down to this:
1) Angry Dog, for the best half-pound basic no frills bar hamburger with killer fries--a real Dallas institution, 2) Liberty--the Bella Burger, which is about 6" tall and topped with an onion ring, is basically the PSE of burgers in Dallas, and if you don't get their cookies-and-cream milkshake you've wasted a trip and 3) Hopdoddy, which I just tried a few days ago for the first time, so it's still fresh in my mind. The buns are super-duper fresh (the place just smells great when you walk in), and the burger is very good without being overwhelming.
Still like Whataburger as the best chain burger, but maybe because its a sentimental favorite.

The Meers Store, Meer, Oklahoma, outside Lawton. Longhorn beef burger the size of a personal pan pizza, topped off with homemade ice cream over peach cobbler. But if that's too much of a drive there's Kincaid's.

Love Goffs cause it's right by my dorm on Hillcrest and I used to know Harvey the original owner when it was on Lovers. Remember He had that Lenin Statue from the fall of the wall out front? The salad burger with the grated cheese and tell them to make the frys extra crispy well done. Some times i see Rodger the Dodger having lunch there. No autographs please! lol
Check out the photos of the HP/SMU kids doing a sit in from the 60s.Cops ready to crack heads!
ps the pizza place next door is top notch as well. Ollivellas. Our floor usually gets a double order to go from both just to get us through the night and the game the next day. Grab a couple cases from the 7-11 next door and you're good for Friday night on the Hilltop my friends! check m out.

Okay I don't blame you for not knowing this place especially you Dallas folks. But there is a little place in west Ft Worth called Roy Pope grocery store. They have been there for 70 years. At lunch time and only lunch, not on weekends, they make the best most juiciest burgers you have ever tasted. If you call yourself a burger efficiano you are doing yourself a great disservice by not going there and trying one of there burgers. They're not fast and you might get a little pissed off for waiting around. You'll be standing behind 3 lawn care specialist who know where to go for lunch, a TCU grad duche bag talking on his phone way too loud and an 80 year old lady with all her bling on, but the burger is worth the wait. On top of that if you like red meat they have probably the best cuts in town if not the metroplex.
PS: the Banana pudding is awesome but they only make that on occasion.

Joe Willy's in Rockwall by far. On the fast food side, Whataburger is the king with Braum's being the crown prince.
