He did more than just take a knee. He explained publicly through the media he couldn't show his respect for the American Flag when Police Murder innocent Black men, not just innocent people , but innocent Black Men. Seriously, I'll always stand at attention and cross my heart when the national anthem is played, because I have a lot of respect for the people who have sacrificed so much for our country. At the same time, freedom of speech is one of the fundamental rights in this country, something that separates us from many other places, even England. I can see both sides. Anyone who wants to make a statement by kneeling should be able to. If fans are going to boycott games or team owners are going to fire players for kneeling, while I disagree with them, they should have the right to do that too.
