To me, encouraging Russia to attack NATO allies is, if not a sign of trump's mental deterioration, a sign he doesn't share American's values. From a guy who thinks it's stupid to pay taxes (or NATO dues?).

I'd say the change in Trump's responses and his irrational rants are due to a few things.

The legalize jeopardy he is in has taken it's toll
He is a man child, and seeks retribution for losing.
He's getting older too, and has that to deal with.
Financially he's getting blitzed and will get worse B4 better.
Where's Melania?? Marital woes?
He's caught up in the rhetoric!

In general I think if you were to take Trump outside of TV and his grandiose gestures - he's probably a lot more tolerable. However I don't like the guy in his policies generally so my observations are as above. He's old and he's losing his shit
