I also don't see how having something hosted overseas is going to totally protect a site.

I mean, terrorists are overseas and do things on USA land....yet our government still goes after them. So why would a foreign land matter when the USA wants justice?

Most times, first time offenders are just misdeanors it seems and usually get off with probation. You see it all the time with ladies who return to the board after being busted or on the tv show COPS. Unless you're a madam, I don't see how a first time offender might get 10 years. A parallel to this is how the US has been proactive in seizing foreign websites selling counterfeit goods like high end watches. They go in and grab the site from the hosting server and shut it down. Foreign agencies are usually fine to cooperate with them.

So when you go to the site, it’s closed with a US Agency logo and statement on it.

I’m really interested to see how this goes for the hobby.

The hobby existed long before the internet, and will adapt and exist after this issue. Those who are panicking and writing down phone numbers, emails etc. to make a little black book, crack me up. How long do you think those numbers will be any good?

^^^^^Depends on the ladies/gents in question. I've had the same contact info for about 4 years now. Most of my regular friends are in the same boat. So for that, Im not too worried. I think I reached out to a whopping 3 people on here that I would like to add to my private contact list (in addition to those whom I already know.) But I see the validity in this point when it comes to the younger, fly by night crowd. Regardless, I see nothing wrong in being proactive even if its all for naught...

Not just the "younger fly by night crowd". A stroll through the list of my OK's on P411 and better than half are "Provider not active". They just get replaced with the new ones. Turnover tends to be high in the hobby. Not to mention those who remain in the hobby, but get new phone numbers every year or so.

That’s smart, they should close down the ads and just make it a green dot if we’re available and make the reviews short and sweet. Like how we looked. If we were what they expected and if our date went good. Hence DATE! Eccie needs to clean up the site and maybe we will have a chance to survive

The site wouldn't be very useful without pics. Its bad enough that a lot of providers use pics from 10 yrs ago or 20 lbs ago, but having no idea of what a provider looks like is of no value. The problem with relying on a guys review of whether a provider is attractive or not, is that its too subjective. Some guys are turned on by women that are not attractive to other guys. At least with pics, you get some idea of who might be behind the door.

Good point. I've already seen some ladies over the past 4 yrs, who've had 6-7 different contact #s during that time. I'd hate to see how often they switch up, once FOSTA goes into play..
