Wrong.

The public mandate that was ruled constitutional is referring to a STATE'S RIGHTS case. Not one which is clearly a federal overreach by the executive branch. I don't know if you know your government or not, but the President isn't a king.

And this was regarding smallpox, which was a far, far more deadly disease.

This isn't going to pass, just like how Biden tried to continue the eviction moratorium by using the CDC utterly failed.

It’s a great idea. And the best part is it’s vaccination or testing, so all the prissy deniers can get tested weekly instead if vaccinated. But employers can require that the anti-vax assholes pay for the weekly tests — at $50-100 each!! Perfect solution.
It's a terrible idea. And anyone that forces mandates on anyone is an evil ass hole.

If the vaccine works so well, why do the vaccinated people have to worry about getting it from the unvaccinated? If the vaccine works so well, why are masks required? Seriously, why the fuck should anyone listen to a government that's been wrong every step of the way for... 18 months now?

People who think everyone should be controlled by the government over what they do with their bodies are fucking ass holes. Fuck them.

You get the vaccine and leave others alone. If you're too chickenshit to go outside around possibly unvaccinated people, build a bunker and go fuck off.

If it was just over a shot, why is USPS exempt from this mandate?

If it was just over a shot, why don't you just take the fucking shot and leave everyone else be?

If the vaccine is so effective, why do you care if others are unvaccinated? You're safe, so go about your own business and shut the fuck up.

When are you going to realize this is no longer about public health anymore?

You're a lemming, dude.

1) The postal workers union is using their significant leverage to try and duck a potential mandate. Are you a fan of unions?

2) Already have, but I'd like to get enough people immunity so they don't clog up our healthcare system with preventable hospitalizations that would be needlessly expensive and impact non-covid care. You've seen that the majority of hospitalized covid cases are unvaccinated people, right?

3) Because I care about more than just myself and don't want to see needless death because of misinformation.

4) It's always been about public health because a lot of dead taxpayers is kind of a bad thing for a tax-collecting government.

5) I think we can do without the name-calling here.

1. But this is a health issue, right? USPS people touch mail and have interactions with people on a daily basis. If Biden is so concerned about health, shouldn't USPS workers be especially vaccinated? And no, I'm not a fan of unions. It was the teacher's unions that fucked the CDC on the side into doing whatever they wanted.

2. The majority of covid deaths are also obese people. Are you going to mandate that nobody eats McDonalds in order to avoid turning into a fatass? And on that point, are you going to mandate that people mandate a healthy lifestyle for everyone in order to prevent the fat fuckers from taking up a bed that someone with another preventable condition take up? How about we start mandating that everyone drive 2 miles an hour to prevent hospitalizations from car accidents? How about we mandate that nobody smokes, ever? Your line of thinking doesn't work with freedom of choice. It's tyranny masquerading around as good intentions.

You want to know what would have helped? If the government didn't fuck up the messaging so much throughout this thing. First it was, vaccine was useless (during Trump's administration) then it was, useful. but with mask. Then it was useful without mask. Then mask times two. Then it was useful again without. Then it wasn't. Then Delta, but vaccines helped prevent seriousness. Then it turns out, it didn't. Then maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. Then another variant.. and another.. and now, maybe a booster. When the fuck does it ever stop? Do you not see the clusterfuck surrounding the vaccine and why there is hesitancy?

3. Nobody needs or wants you to care for them. You live your life, you get every vaccine and go about your way. And misinformation? What misinformation? The one that the guy on CNN tells you is misinformation? The one the dementia-ridden pedo Joe tells you is? Seriously, what misinformation is causing deaths?

4. Maybe the government shouldn't be giving out free unemployment benefits to a bunch of ass holes who aren't working. Or forcing eviction moratorium's. Or shut downs. Or spending billions of dollars on gender studies in the middle east. Or letting in a bunch of illegal immigrants from the southern border. Or funding politician's pet projects. And in general, cutting all the pork that are written in budget bills? Maybe that's a good thought, Howdy, instead of forcing everyone to take a shot that has a metric ton of confusion surrounding it.

5. Then stop acting like one.

The only reason the USPS isn't included.. is the unions. There are 3 or 4 postal unions-- all of them powerful as fuck and all but one of them just locked their contracts for the next couple years.

Sure-- they can attempt to include the USPS.. but all the workers who don't want the shot have to do.. is file a grievance. They can't do fuckall else unless they try to have it mandated in the next contracts.

1) The virus is mainly fluid-borne, so a paper/cardboard mail carrier is a negligible transmission risk, haven't seen any studies to suggest otherwise. Teachers unions are also causing unnecessary friction in getting our kids back to the far more effective in-person learning, but that's a separate issue, especially since teachers are by-and-large a heavily-vaccinated group.

2) Obesity is a comorbidity for covid, but your assertion that it's responsible for the majority is just not borne out by the data. The rest of what you typed is mostly hyperbole that doesn't deserve a response; however, other governments around the world incentivize healthy living that is an integral component of their longer lifespans and reduced healthcare costs. Food for thought, excuse the pun.

The message was tweaked with the introduction of new information in realtime, during both the Trump and Biden admins, who both wanted to minimize deaths. Remember, if you will, that both Presidents Trump and Biden have publicly vouched for the vaccines.

3) I'm not really sure why the misinformation on social media is accepted so wholeheartedly by a mostly right-wing audience, but the rejection of our medical institutions' best efforts and embrace of sloppily-"researched" miracle cures certainly appears to be a self-replicating misinformation virus.

And your assumptions about where I get my news from are facile

4) Aside from these all being unrelated to covid, I don't think you really understand the realpolitik of governance. But you did devote a few words to covid in this meandering point, so I'll ask: what is the "metric ton of confusion surrounding [the vaccines]"?

5) All the stubbornly unvaxxed people dying from covid look like the lemmings to me, but maybe that's just my perspective.

1. So what? They work in a warehouse and at the post office, where they are working directly with the public. Shouldn't that be a cause of worry for transmission? Let's leave the unions out of this. If we should do everything we can to prevent transmission, shouldn't USPS also be forced to vaccinated everyone? After all, it is something that can be done to *prevent* transmission. Anyways, unions suck.

2. The data shows that obesity and age are the two biggest at-risk groups, barring those with pre-existing conditions. And if you're so quick to accept mandates, why aren't you for banning the sale of unhealthy foods that only contribute to a obesity? Not only does this add to the covid hospitalization/deaths, it actually broadens the discussion to the topic of mandates as a whole regarding the prevention of hospitalizations. If obesity can be prevented by forcing everyone to eat their greens and lean meats, why aren't you for a mandate for that? It's not hyperbole at all. You seem in favor of government telling you what to put into your body, so why not that? Or do you just care about covid? What, do you just not care about preventable deaths by things like high blood pressure, heart problems and strokes, all of which are linked to obesity? . Don't be a pussy and blow this off as undeserving of a response. You're the one for mandates, after all. And yes, other countries do promote healthier lifestyles. Why aren't you critical of the fat acceptance movement which promotes the healthy-at-any-size bullshit?

3.What misinformation on social media are you talking about? Which "cures" are you disregarding? And why? Because someone from a bureau with a three letter acronym told you to? Even though they change their minds, sometimes days within each other? Or when the Unions tell them to?

You want to know why I accuse you of being a CNN stooge? Because your arguments are the exact same ones that morons like Don Lemon uses. At no point, did you answer any of my questions regarding covid with empirical proof. Just "it's the science."

4. It has everything to do with covid, because under the guise of covid, the government is fucking up the way money is made. If the government wants to collect taxes, why aren't they trying to equally avoid spending money on useless shit and actually save money? You do understand the the recent covid relief bill that was passed had nothing to do with actual covid relief, right? It was full of pork. You want to know how a government can collect taxes? By not shutting down the fucking economy and threaten jobs with vaccine mandates. How the fuck are you not able to piece anything together after you specifically bring up a point?

And if the vaccine is so effective and is this miracle, why are countries like Israel, which is one of the highest vaccinated countries in the world, seeing a spike in hospitalizations? If the vaccine is so effective, why are people still wearing masks? If the vaccine is so effective, why do vaccinated people care if someone around them is unvaccinated? Even if the other person is infected, the vaccine protects them, right? Why is the CDC and Fauci on TV always saying something different?

And why aren't they talking about therapeutics so that even if someone does get infected, there are medications to combat the symptoms?

5. Maybe they had religious reasons for not taking the vaccine. Are they lemmings? Maybe the mixed messaging surrounding the vaccine created hesitancy regarding taking it. Maybe their doctors told them that the side effects of the vaccine could be an issue with other conditions they had. Maybe they were tested positive with covid but didn't die of it. Are they lemmings?

You unfairly lump together everyone who disagrees with you as lemmings while you specifically only spout left wing talking points. And you're trying to push a mandate that affects people in many different ways and you have the gall to say "I'm for taking away your freedom because it's good for you."

Finally, for the science.. what science are you talking about? Where is the data? Where are the studies regarding masking and vaccines? You say the reasons the message is being tweaked because of new information? are you saying that the information regarding masking is updated weekly and depending on who interviews with these scientists? Seriously, elaborate.

They are....monoclonal antibodies...and they do work...to some degree and IF you get them immediately after infection/symptoms. OTOH, if you're already very sick, it may be too late for the therapeutic to work.

BTW, right now COVID is killing as many people every two days as died on 9/11....

Now ivermectin? A dewormer...maybe it works, but there's currently no evidence of that. And a large animal size dose can be quite hazardous.
Why the heck would one who declines vaccination be willing to take an unproven (not even emergency approved) drug?

Point of order...

Ivermectin IS an FDA approved drug, just not for COVID. It is a dewormer and anti-parasitic.. and has been used for decades to combat malaria-- in fact, a derivative of Ivermectin, known as Avermectin, was part of a Nobel Prize due to its role in combating parasitic infection in 3rd world countries. . While it does not cure COVID, there is evidence that it does help with some of the symptoms if given early on (which, makes sense, it also works as an anti-inflammatory). The biggest issue right now is that people aren't getting it from their doctor, they are getting it from the Tractor Supply store.. which isn't the human dosage.

Who says Covid is killing as many as 9/11 every two days? And why shouldn't people try out different treatment options?

This thing is never going away. People need to accept it and stop pretending the government can save you.

It's endemic.

Sounds like people are still scared and not living their life to the fullest, you want USPS employees to do the shots? What about the Wal-Mart employees that stock the groceries? What about the Chinese restaurant that you order from? The home Depot tool you bought? The door handles you touch when you open a door? I can go on for ever.

I remember going to pay for a auction with Cash and the girl asked me to disinfect my hands before handing her the money, I asked her what about the dirty cash I'm about to give you? She just laughed and was following idiot orders, then handed me a pen to sign a document 😂 If you're gonna live in fear, lock yourself at home and don't go anywhere or order anything from the outside world

You can call it fear, I think most people would call it risk mitigation for a known threat. But this argument doesn't really work anymore, since now these same fearless individuals live in fear of a vaccine needle.

People don’t want to take the vaccine and they have their reasons. What exactly do you not get about this?

A known threat that has a 99.9 survival rate.

It’s not your call to mitigate risk for anyone but yourself.
