Something just occurred to me, he/them may suffer from a mental illness, I guess I should pull back a bit and let him/them alone while this plays out. There is obviously something going off the rails in that mind and it ain’t pretty.

I love taking my street car down to the 1/4 track and having some safe fun while having adrenal rushes. Anybody who has ever raced a car knows what I'm talking about. I had Pontiacs (late model GTO), a couple of Mustang 5.0's, and 4 Vettes.


During this time I was a member of multiple car forums and I remember there were a couple of subjects that would lead to a real fight if the comments weren't on a forum.


One of the subjects that always got people's blood pressure to the stroke level was automatic vs. stick shift. People would go round and round. Unlike the muscle car era (1960's and 1970's) when the stick shifts were faster, the cars with the modern (2000 and up) automatic transmissions were faster. Then we broke off on to another tangent where some people loved the paddle shifters, while people like myself felt the car ran faster when the computer shifted the car on it's own. In the cars I had, the lag time between hitting the paddle and the car actually shifting was way too long.


The other thing that got people in fighting moods was an argument about long tube headers. Kooks and American racing each developed and made great quality headers, while a company from China named OBX was just making really cheap headers that were junk, but they worked, even though they had fit issues. A lot of guys hated OBX as they had minimal testing because they were a direct copy of Kooks. Personally I was able to pay more for headers and went with American Racing because I didn't want cheap knock off junk on my car. To the cheap skates the fact OBX ripped off an American company didn't matter to them, they just wanted bang for the buck.


In the case of the OBX headers the ones against it was about 20-2. But the 2 were raising hell and tearing up the board because they wouldn't shut up and were playing games screwing around with the other forum members.



What I learned then, and learned when moderating several online forums is that if you have 2 or 3 people getting out of line, in order to make the board run smoothly for everybody else, you give them a week off with the knowledge that when they came back they needed to get rid of their total obsession with their headers and playing games. Well they left for a week, the board ran real smooth, and things went well. The majority of the members were happy and the other two didn't offer anything of subsistence except talking shit and playing games, so they weren't missed at all. They sacrificed two to keep the many other active members happy.

It is ok to be nice but at some point the multiple handles issue needs to be addressed. It is clear enough to numerous people that multiple handles are involved here so just not sure why the powers to be choose not to do anything.
