If you want something really small and easily concealable, you might consider any of several quality compact semi-automatics chambered for the .380 auto. Some authorities consider it too light for a reliable self defense weapon, and it is on the light end of the acceptability range, to say the least. But some of the most concealable handguns I've ever seen were .380 autos.
I have a Browning 1911 380 Auto 4.5 inch barrel that is my CC
I use Hornady critical defense 95 grn round

Stopping power isn't the end all be all. Blood Loss Is. A 22 will get it done most the time.

Lots of old timers carried 22s in their pockets.
Yep, and if it doesn’t kill your attacker he’ll at least limp away.

Ruger P94 in .40 S&W most of the time. Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 magnum in a shoulder holster when wearing a jacket.

I have a S&W 500 with some hollow points hand loaded.
You want to talk about making a hole.

The DE is fun but just way to heavy and bulky for a carry weapon imo. Even the Beretta 92 the army gave us isn’t something that’s comfortably concealed unless you’ve got on a big winter jacket. It was no problem with a hip holster but that’s not something I’d want to wear out to dinner and a movie. I don’t see much logic in a heavy carry weapon. For the most part, any confrontation in civilian life is going to be up close where accuracy isn’t much of an issue. You just want to put a couple holes in the perp and gtfo, a 3-3.5” barrel is plenty good enough and easy to stick in your pocket.

The police have a hard job to do, and they deserve more respect, and we should have more of them; but there will never be enough to protect fools like you.

When it come down to who will protect you when and if you need it; the answer is: ONLY YOU!

I carry, just not all the time. I carry to and from my car: after dark and after normal business hours. In thirty years of carrying a gun to and from my car I have never had to pull it out. One time only, four guys approached me on the way to my car. I didn't pull it out of my pocket, I just reached into my pocket and said: Leave me alone please, I am armed. That was enough.

I witnessed a case a zillion years ago where a 22 just bounced of a guy.
As mentioned above, a pretty much anything else makes a nice big hole.
I believe in keeping things simple.
Big hole = big caliber.

Maybe a short, but there’s no way in hell a Lapua Match, CCI stinger or a bunch of other quality loads will bounce off of a person. Those rounds are lethal out to a couple hundred yards.

Saw a YouTube not long ago with a guy putting CCI minimags through 1/2” plywood out of a 10/22 at 400 yards.

S and W 9mm with high capacity magazine, the SD9VE model for less than $300, great bang for the buck and it's still a S snd W. This will be my conceal and carry weapon, while I have a S and W .357 revolver for the house.

Did anybody mention gun shows for getting almost anything guns?

Academy usually has the best prices on anything gun.

For fun at the range I have a S and W... AR15 with .223 and .300 blackout uppers. Plus I also have a bumpstock for playing soldier wanna-be.

Hey gnadfly, when are we going to meet at the range and see how fast we can blow through some 30 round magazines using the bumpstocks?
