There is some effort. I had to request a ballot. Read instructions. Fill it out. Assemble the envelope. Put a stamp on it. Mail it.

Sounds like I had to do something and time was involved. That called effort, baby.

Must’ve needed a nap after all that.

I love Election Day. Usually run into at least one neighbor, head out and shoot the shit at DD over coffee and bear claws.

So do I. I vote at the church I’ve been going to since 1968. I know most of the people there. I might stop at the Gab N Eat afterwards. Mail in votes should be abolished.

The fact that you oppose them tells everyone that you know the bulk of the low-information voters out there - the ones J. calls "morons who can't follow instructions" - are Democrats!

No, there's just other ways without being draconian about it. I'm not fixated on protecting the right of Republicans OR Democrats. Good chunk of voters aren't either.

Interested in making it easier AND more secure for ALL citizens to vote freely, fairly and reasonably. Even those I don't agree with.

Platitude!

Except when there's a tradeoff between "easier" and "more secure" - you will always opt for the former over the latter.

Do you support photo ID requirements to vote? A whopping 84% of your fellow citizens think it's a no brainer!

I'd be fine with an iris scan for those that show up in person.

"Did you know that paper ballots are watermarked? They're highly sophisticated. They're more sophisticated than the machines they use. Machines can be hacked.

I said, Elon, you're good with computers right? He looked at the machines, and he knew immediately that they could be hacked. He said there should never be machines used in voting. Everything should be paper ballots, put in boxes, voter ID, identification.

We should ask simple questions. Questions like: 'Are you a citizen of the United States?'

You know, little things."

Hand counts? By people who won't use tabulator machines?

And those people can be bought?

Just imagine putting the wrong people in there to count

I don’t think that’d be possible without every potential voter getting pre scanned so the machine would would have something to compare it to. As you’re well aware I’m all in on election security but damn, an iris scan is hardcore. Glad to see you’re coming around, but this idea seems impossible to implement.

If an iris scan is hardcore, you're about 45% in on election security, at best
