I'd make a bet that every one of those immigrants would trade their place on the gutting line to ask "would you like fries with that" for the same pay.
Ever been in a slaughter house to see how your Big Mac gets processed? For all the hunters, you know how you field dress your kill? Where do you take it after that? Why? Because you'd rather pay someone to do that work than do it yourself. That's what these workers do all day, every day...

I've always been a little surprised that the magatards don't have an issue with all the subsidies farmers get. Pure socialism right there. I bet they would love paying for an $8 potato.

Tyson Foods Fires Hard-Working American Employees and Instead Hires Illegal Immigrants
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/saraha...oyees-n2636564
Welcome to 2024, where it is more beneficial to be an illegal immigrant in the United States than a U.S.-born, hard-working, law-abiding citizen.
Tyson Foods is facing criticism and calls to be boycotted over the company reportedly firing its employees and hiring illegal immigrants in their place.
According to Bloomberg, just days after Tyson Foods’s Perry, Iowa location fired more than 1,200 American workers, the company announced that it has partnered with a non-profit refugee group, Tent Partnership for Refugees, hiring thousands of asylum seekers instead.
The food company reportedly recently had a job fair in Iowa for immigrants to attend as American workers remain without paychecks. Tyson Foods also created a database of tens of thousands of illegal alien workers that they plan to replace American workers with, offering $16.50-an-hour wages and free immigration lawyers.
Tyson recently hired tens of dozens of illegal immigrants from Venezuela, Mexico, and Colombia during a job fair in New York City.
“It is ILLEGAL under federal law to discriminate against American citizens based on their citizenship in favor of non-citizens of any kind when it comes to employment,” America First Legal said, adding that Tyson is breaking the law by favoring illegal immigrant workers over Americans.
The outlet also noted that the company has not only set millions of dollars aside for the immigrant’s legal fees, but will also provide housing, on-site child care, transportation, and paid time off to attend court hearings.
Tyson’s CEO Donnie King, who makes up to $13 million a year, has funded the campaigns of President Joe Biden, Nikki Haley, and others, according to Open Secrets.
The company already has about 42,000 immigrants working for them among its 120,000 U.S. workforce.
“We would like to employ another 42,000 if we could find them,” Tyson employee Garrett Dolan, told the outlet. The majority of new hires “Are going to come from refugees and immigrants, so we're now in the business of strategically thinking that through.”
In 2022, the company hired 2,500 refugees under the Tent program.

As others have said, this is two issues. One issue is Tyson's right to shut down a loss making plant that employed 1300 American and immigrant workers. The Waco Kid that I know is a champion of free enterprise and the American Way. He wouldn't criticize the closure.
As to the other issue, job fairs for immigrants awaiting hearings to confirm or deny refugee status, Tyson must be stopped. They cannot be allowed to channel large-breasted female Cuban and Venezuelan immigrants away from strip clubs and into chicken plants. That would be a huge waste of big tits.
I don't have a problem though with others being offered employment at $16.50 per hour. What's the unemployment rate in the red states where Tyson packs chicken? Maybe 2.5% to 3%? There are too many jobs and not enough people right now. Let the native born Americans do more productive work, and also let the immigrants do something productive instead of robbing, stealing and maiming people, while they're waiting years for their immigration hearings.
Seriously, I disagree that Tyson's the culprit. The politicians are the reason we're in this situation. Instead of putting people like Kangaroo Engoron, err, sorry, Judge Engoron in a position to expropriate the assets of hard working American capitalists, we should put them on the border. And they should decide in a few days after entry whether to accept or reject applicants for refugee status.

where is it stated that the plant was losing money? and even if it was why summarily fire Americans to replace them with lower wage illegals? would they have taken a pay cut to remain? most probably would have to keep their jobs, especially considering most of Tyson's plants are in rural areas with little other opportunities. another good reason to fire Americans is to get rid of those pesky Unions (which TWK detests as a champion of free enterprise).
how much of a victim is Tyson? none in my opinion as they are certainly raking in with 53 billion gross revenue and net income of 3 billion for 2022.
if Tyson with 142,000 employees needs to grow their work force even including illegals firing Americans to to do so is un-American.
and as i've pointed out Tyson has a long history of supporting using illegals in their plants that goes back decades. have they turned over a new leaf of Corporate morality? this doesn't make much of a case for that, yeah?
but Tyson supports DEI ...

See this article in the Des Moines Register,
https://www.desmoinesregister.com/st...k/72946699007/
It sounds to me like Tyson is losing lots of money in its pork operations. There's overcapacity in the industry, and the Perry Plant that's closing is old and and inefficient:
With the pork industry facing its harshest financial conditions in 25 years, meatpacking workers, city leaders and others across the state worry that more of Iowa's 11 major processing plants (in addition to the Tyson's Perry Plant where 1300 people are being laid off) could end up on the chopping block.
....Meatpackers haven’t been able to avoid high prices for corn, soy meal and other feed that have contributed to large losses for pork producers, says Lee Schulz, an Iowa State University livestock economist.
....Tyson reported $648 million in losses in the fiscal year that ended in September....And Hong Kong-based WH Group, which owns Smithfield Foods, operator of several Iowa plants, said U.S. and Mexico pork operations lost $551 million in the third quarter compared to $85 million in profits a year earlier.
Over the past year, Tyson said it would close eight older, less efficient U.S. chicken plants. And Tyson CEO Donnie King told analysts last month the company would continue “right-sizing” its operations, presaging the March 11 announcement that Tyson will close the Perry plant at the end of June to “optimize efficiency.
....Meyer said that as a single-shift plant, Perry was hamstrung.
“Double-shift plants have a lot of cost advantages,” spreading “a lot of fixed costs out over far more pigs,” he said.
The 61-year-old Perry plant, initially operated by Oscar Mayer, had been remodeled, but because of its relatively limited size, “it would have been hard to adapt ... to a double-shift plant,” he said.
Tyson’s Waterloo and Storm Lake pork plants, both with two shifts, are considered “some of the most efficient in the country,” Schulz said. Waterloo workers process about 17,250 hogs daily and Storm Lake, 19,500, he said. The Perry plant slaughters about 9,000 hogs daily.
“The least-efficient plants are the most vulnerable,” Schulz said.
A new, efficient plant that’s aggressive can put competitive pressure on older plants,” Meyer said. “Not that the older plants aren’t still pretty good.”
The Perry plant was built in response to the closure of a previous one, and it escaped a planned closure in 1988 only when a last-minute buyer emerged on Christmas Eve of that year.

I don't believe that's really an issue. From the same article,
Across Iowa, Tyson employs 9,000 people. A significant number of its employees are immigrants or refugees, with 60% of its national workforce representing those two categories, according to Jobs for the Future
A large percentage of the employees in Perry are probably immigrants and refugees. From Google, 31% of the population of Perry is Hispanic. While only 6.8% of Iowans are Hispanic.

Bloomberg shows them making 394 million net income on 53 billion in sales during the 12 months ended 12/30/2023. The company had an operating loss of $139 million in its pork segment in its most recent fiscal year. That would be before deducting interest expense.

How many of the workers in Perry will be relocated? And how many of the workers they're laying off there are immigrants and refugees versus citizens? Maybe the % of American citizens that Tyson employs will actually go up a little as a result of the closure of the Perry plant. I doubt they're still using illegals.
