There was a day when enriching yourself directly by abuse of power was frowned upon and there was honor in keeping your personal interests from conflicting with your duties.



If I am a Chinese or Russian diplomat that is going to come to the States and I am looking at how I can best spend money to influence the never ending negotiations. Fuck yeah I am going to compromise Trump by spending lavishly in one of his hotels or interests. I would expect our officials to do the same if they have the opportunity to compromise a foreign leader.
