Yes seedy you and EA don't have an OVERweight issue.
But being underweight is a problem too.
I wouldn't go loading up on sugars. Diabetes has an evil twin.

Hmm, well it's not entirely our fault.
Look at all the processed foods we have to sort through at the grocery store.
Even shopping healthy I still have to be leery of what I buy.
Not to mention the fast food industry. Decades of advertising juicy fatty food their efforts now seem to be too little too late.

I'll throw in my 2 cents here in response to several comments, but in no certain order......

*Processed foods, pretty much everything in between the outside aisles of the grocery store, are bad.
*Drink a regular Coke (or pretty much any other soda) every day and you will gain 15 pounds in a year.
*Not drinking enough water throws your body into "drought mode" and it will retain what it can in "water weight". The same goes for food. Not eating food (starving yourself), puts your body into "famine" mode, and it stores up as much fat as it can.
*Eating smaller amounts throughout the day makes it easier to lose weight.
*Artificial sweeteners just make your body cram in some sugar and hidden carbs later.
*Eating slower will help you feel full before you have crammed in too much food.
*Cutting your meal portions in half, particularly when eating out, will help you loose weight and get a better perspective an what portions should be. You can eat the other half for another meal.
* I have lost 36 pounds over the last few months, by only drinking water (lots of it) (maybe add a twist of lime or lemon) and tea and cutting my portions in half. You can use soda water with lime if you want the bubbles. Unsweetened ice tea. Some places, the tea sucks, so I go with water. Total deprivation does not work either. I still have an occasional treat, but I mainly just eat sensibly. I still have more to go, but have to push past the plateau I am on now. Still making adjustments to what I eat and leaving behind processed food.
*The choices of what Americans have to eat are amazing and some are incredibly good to eat. Most of those are also not good for you on a regular basis. It's no wonder Americans are seriously overweight. There are some people that are just naturally large and I'm knocking them, but a lot of us could be healthier than we are.

I've drank sodas everyday damn near my whole life and haven't gained a damn thing.

I don't drink hardly any water and I'd love to know where my body is storing the fat it's supposed to be storing lol.

Not all facts pertain to everyone, even the ones presented by WU and others.

EA, all I'm saying is wait till you hit 40...I was like that too, and the habits you build now will be that much harder to break when your metabolism shifts...it will happen...

We need to stop blaming fast food and processed food for our problems. In the end it all comes down to their fat lazy asses making the decision to eat it. These fat people have let advertisers run their life for three decades now, and the ride has come to an end...time to face the music...because the rest of us are sick of paying for it...

Default Thank you Wake Up

For your BBW thread. This is most likely your most informative and educational piece ever.
I was a Dr. Pepper addict for years. I stopped 8 months ago. Best thing I ever did. When I eat out I make two servings. I had a problem with over eating. Binge eating was a big issue also.
Thanks again you have truly inspired me to have a much healthier life style.

Speaking of "healthy" ... does "R.M." stand for Royal Mammaries?

Dr. Pepper must have some growth hormones ....

EA, you and I are in the same boat. To be honest, i'd much rather be thin than fat...

WU, I have to disagree on that point. I'm 58, 5'11" 150lbs, heaviest I ever was was 163, when I played football, and worked out like a madman, now I'm just a madman...LMAO.. my grandfather was the same, and my brother is like me also, only he still works out, and probably goes 175lbs. Guess it's just in our genetic makeup. This is no bs, my daily intake of calories right now is over 3000. But I am a very active person, don't get me wrong I like to lounge around also, but I can't do it very long. People like EA, and myself probably just have a metabolism that burns it off quickly.

LMAO.. never professed to being big, I am wiry and can hold my own. Most of my fishing buddies are in their thirties, and I can leave them in the dust. One good thing about being thin, it makes my dick look HUGE....LMMFAO
