Truly underrated guitarist. Saw him live and in person 4 or 5 times. Had no idea the first time that he was such a great guitar player. He sure had gone a far piece from his earliest work.
I was at another Allman Brothers concert on the East coast. When we were first let in to the facility, the roadies were on stage playing/jamming and were really good. Then the lights went down and a spot light came on and followed this very old black guy, that I had never seen before, shuffling across the stage. He struggled to climb up on to a stool in the middle of the stage. And then this happened:
