Sorry COG, Chavez is just an opportunist who chose to portray an image of socialist to the country while he steals as much as he can. I can't even stand listening to his name.

He's being sarcastic.

Getting Chavez's endorsement is like getting Satan's endorsement. Of course, Satan endorsing Obama, is a no brainer, since that's his dad.

I don't give a shit about Castro or Chavez as neither one is a threat to anyone.

We should stop bickering with them and get on with doing business with both countries without political distractions. For God's sake look at what we do with the Chinese.

TAE - It doesn't matter if the Chinese are communists, socialists, and human rights violators, as long as the corporate masters get their profits with $1/day labor, our paid, sorry, bribed, sorry, elected officials will turn the other way and will be happy to keep China happy. Add to that the fact they're bank rolling our government spending, well, you can't piss them off.

Actually Chavez is becoming a threat to the US. Venezuela and Iran are currently building ICBM bases in Venezuela. It's shaping up to be similar to the Cuban missile crisis, except Obama won't insist on their removal. He'll probably help them with technology, the way Clinton did with the Chinese.

From AmericanThinker. Com:

Iran and Venezuela are feverishly building ICBM bases on the Paraguana Peninsula, a thumbnail shaped spit of arid land around a thousand square miles in size, 250 miles northwest of Caracas. These bases are designed to house missiles with nuclear tipped warheads capable of reaching large portions of the United States. From the Jerusalem Post, in May of 2011, and noted at the time by American Thinker, we read about these stunning developments that the Obama Administration and their socialist enablers in the media want to bury before the 2012 election.

So let's borrow more money so we can bomb both Iran and Venezuela.

Just like McCain wants the US to intervene in Syria. Where the fuck does the GOP think the money will come from? On one side of their mouth they bitch about spending but have no problem starting more wars and sending troops with more borrowed money.

Maybe if we quit trying to bomb the world into democracy, these problems would take care of themselves.

If the Iranians or anyone else wanted to threaten the US with a limited nuclear attack all they have to do is smuggle them into the country and shield them so they can't be found.

The threat from the missiles in Cuba in 1962 was that there were so many of them and their range so short that it might have been possible to strike at enough SAC bases to have achieved some manner of first strike.

Nothing like that is at play with a handful of missile and warheads in this situation.

If the Iranians hit Dallas and Houston with ICBM's, because we couldn't afford to stop their missile operation in Venezuela, how much will that cost? I say get rid of the unconstitutional, insanely expensive, social welfare programs LBJ started in the sixties so we can afford to fund national defense.
