Look up "B-52" and you'll find this:
"B-52 strikes were an important part of Operation Desert Storm. With about 1,620 sorties flown, B-52s delivered 40% of the weapons dropped by coalition forces while suffering only one non-combat aircraft loss, with several receiving minor damage from enemy action." More @:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-52#Gulf_War_and_later
BTW, to underscore Ekim's post, "the U-2 remains in frontline service more than 50 years [since 1955] after its first flight despite the advent of surveillance satellites. This is primarily due to the ability to direct flights to objectives at short notice, which satellites cannot do. The U-2 has outlasted its Mach 3 SR-71 replacement, which was retired in 1998."

MQ-9 Reaper
Armament
Fourteen AGM-114 Hellfire air to ground missiles can be carried or
two 500 lb (230 kg) GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bombs with four Hellfire missiles.
The 500 lb (230 kg) GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) can also be carried.
Performance
- Maximum speed: 555 mph; 893 km/h (482 kn)
- Cruise speed: 360 mph; 580 km/h (313 kn)
- Range: 999 nmi; 1,150 mi (1,850 km)
- Endurance: 14 hours fully loaded
Golly-gee, this thing can stay airborne for fourteen hours, has a cruising range of over 1,100 miles and it carries bombs -- anybody else but CBJ7 would realize it drops bombs. BTW, the SR-71 -- your example -- didn't carry anything equivalent in armament.

But BigTurd is right. We killed an elderly, unarmed man. Putin is shaking in his boots. Yeah, he won't test us. Obama has him scared shitless. Or BigTurdless. Same difference.

StupidOldFart, since you brought the issue of killing unarmed men up, I have a question for you.
How many unarmed American men (and women) did OBL kill (or have killed) on American soil? Assuming you are smart enough to figure out the answer, you will soon understand why Obama gave the order to kill "an elderly, unarmed man."
As a result, OBL now sleeps with the fishes! Way to go, Mr. President! OBL should not have been a prisoner, he should be sleeping with the fishes!
