Nothing.. when I needed the tax money I put in for help.. guess what I got no help, opps we are out of money!!! Oh thats right that other country that has nothing to do with us needed it..

Our government is a joke. And for your comment in the other thread I will probally pay more than you and your +1 fan club in taxes so you can both kiss my butt. Im sorry I dont support the way this country is run and that the government rapes you for taxes.. they tax EVERYTHING!! YOUR hard earned money goes in their pocket to foolishly spend while one struggles to put food on the table.. one that struggles to feed her kids because she doesnt qualify for food stamps or to get her rent paid by $50. If she wasnt taxed to death maybe she could because that program to help her in which she paid taxes just to screws her.. Now she becomes a hooker or has to go on welfare just to live.
You didn't get help because you didn't understand how the system works. You must have 8 kids raised in the juvenile system, refuse to work a job and spend every penny you can get on booze and cigs. Follow those steps and our gov will give you what you want. Put in any effort at all to be a decent part of society and they will hang you out to dry. It is a shame that the people who do try and just need a little assistance during a rough time are the ones who can't get any help.

I know so many people that this has happened to at least in NY.. taxes are ridiculous in NY.

I make contributions to the people many other ways first hand not half ass filtered through the governments hands. I donate my "skimmed" tax money to people who really need it. I donate often through my day business, I have something to give. As many times as ive struggled I know there are people much worse off than the position that I am in.

You've got to be kidding!!! We're not taxed nearly as much as other countries, especially in Europe. But if blaming the government to ease your conscience is what you need to justify your cheating, so be it.

Here is the list FYI:

Love this from Missy Mariposa - "...tax fraud is tax fraud. Period. A provider should report it all and be a decent human being. Everyone else has to pay taxes on their income, why shouldn't we?"

I'm a financial professional...I make a good living...I'm self employed...last year 43% of my taxable income went to the feds, 7% went to the state, 8% went to property tax, throw in various sales, county etc tax...and its a wonder anyone can eat (let alone hobby). But we do.
Misery loves company folks. It's far less miserable to pay what's owed than to get caught engaging in tax fraud. BTW, how do you spell felony conviction? That said, here's a few tidbits.
Travel expenses (paid by the escort) are deductible. Sorry Ladies - you can't deduct what I pay for you to travel...wish I could deduct it (Hmmm, maybe you need to be a temporary hire) Rooms, and meals are also deductible, but unlike reported above personal hygiene/clothing etc...while humorous, is not deductible. Feel free to use your very active imaginations here when inventing deductions. What the hell...you only live once.
The IRS says they aren't all that interested in going after individuals earning less than $300K...But if you get turned in for not reporting or hiding income and they suspect you make over that amount the process can be very unpleasant. Remember misery loves company when it comes to taxes.
Having just had a meeting with my over-paid CPA I'm feeling kind of miserable...time to go find one of my ATFs (I'd love some company)

@LynnT

I'm not going to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine.

I've never cheated on my taxes, but I take every legal deduction I can, and leave it to the IRS to challenge the deduction. If I don't take it, they're not going to give it to me gratuitously.

Posting the chart was done in response to your assertion that "they TAX EVERYTHING." I was just pointing out that they DON'T tax everything. When compared to other countries, the US is actually quite modest in its tax rates.

I've made my points. I don't care to argue this any longer.

Well Charles, I would like to make a point regarding your chart. That's national income taxes. That chart does not include state income taxes and all sorts of other taxes that we have here in the US that doesn't occur in other parts of the world. So add about 10% to the US tax rate and you see where we fall? To say you have never cheated on your taxes seems a little gratituous don't you think? I bet you never speed on the highway either? The tax code is so complex, I am sure we all are doing something that is wrong or not right and don't even know about it. I am not picking on you CT, just making the point that I feel that the US and it's States are grossly over taxed and it matters not what other countries do. Seriously, since when do we care how the French are governered and taxed. Really, we should do what they do? C'mon Man!

Good, maybe I'll get in the last word. Two people have weighed in here saying the government takes over 50% of what they make. Do you think that's fair? How much should government take? 70%? 100%? At what point do people quit working or start gaming the system to avoid paying higher taxes? Britain raised marginal income tax rates a couple of years ago from 40% to 50%, and their tax take from people in that bracket went down. I can show you similar changes when rates have changed in the U.S. Higher tax rates can end up collecting less income tax.

Your chart shows the U.S. rate on business, that is, on corporations, to be highest next to Japan. Individuals, including people with pensions and mutual funds, are the ultimate owners of corporations, so the corporate tax represents an indirect tax on people. And corporate taxes are a cost of doing business -- much of the tax is passed onto the U.S. consumer in the form of higher costs.

I would question whether your chart includes state income taxes. It certainly doesn't include the property taxes and sales taxes that drive Bigh's total rate over 50%.

Your chart is "Europe centric". Many of the countries on your chart with high tax rates suffer from high unemployment and low GDP growth rates. If you look at the most dynamic developed economies in the world -- Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, the United States -- their tax rates are lower than western Europe.

Are you a politician? If so your reasoning makes sense. You're the masters and the rest of us are your slaves. That's the way it should be. Because you know what's best for the rest of us and how to best spend our money.

One more thing......and many of the girls here can attest to this....look at your hotel and rental car bills and see the taxes applied to those. Geez, and often times all that money goes to fund professional sports palaces for guys making millions of dollars a year for having fun.....yeah, I think in many ways our government has lost its way.

This country operated off of import export taxes alone until everyone got fat and happy and stopped paying attention to what was going on.
