No one is being forced. I keep hearing that EVERYONE is hiring. So, if your employer requires it and you don't want to comply, should be simple to get another job, right?

Yet it’s ok for women to be forced to bear kids.

In my industry it used to be common for managers to have mini-bars in the office. It’s now against company policy, so for years I’ve been unable to have a drink at the office. I understand why that policy is in place, and if I really wanted to drink on the job I could quit and become a bartender, at substantially lower pay. I like what I earn, so I stay sober on the job.

Employers set lots of rules to protect their customers and employees. If you don’t like it, find something else to do.

So you think its okay for people to be fired by companies moving the goal post anytime they wish?
Maybe next will be long hair dresses I don't know however I see a ton of issues down the road if this is allowed

When they have legitimate health and safety reasons for doing so? Yes, I do. It happens all the time. We don’t allow smoking in offices any longer, either. Is that wrong?

Edit to add: I also think employees should (and do) have the right to sue for wrongful termination if they believe their employer is overreaching. I don’t think that’s the case with COVID vaccinations, but if someone wants to litigate it that’s fine by me.

What issues do you foresee? If anything, this reversal of mandates flies in the face of US legal precedent. Public health mandates, including mandatory vaccination, have been ruled constitutional by the supreme court. You can look it up.

Until 2021, the only people I've seen cry so loudly about vaccines were the babies getting them.

As you might not be aware, in Texas, employers have the freedom to fire an employee for just about any reason or no reason at all.

Montana is the only state in the US that is COMPLETELY not "At Will". Every other state has an "At Will" law on the books. Montana, they can fire you without reason during a probationary period only.

WP and WSJ are reporting that the federal government is going to require companies with more than 100 employees to require vaccinations. Despite my pro-vax views, I’m not thrilled it’s now the government forcing people to get vaccinated.

Yes, it would be nice if people did it of their own volition, but one of the functions of government is to ensure public health.

The courts are going to shoot that down. The federal government has absolutely no authority to issue a nationwide mandate to get a fucking shot.

Not if it encroaches on your rights. If the vaccine works so well, why does anyone care if I get it or not?

If anyone is actually for allowing the government to issue a mandate to force people to get vaccinated, they're the worst pieces of shit and deserve to rot in their own piss.

This "mandate" is not scientific in any way. It's Biden just giving red meat to his base, which is dwindling by the day thanks to disastrous policies.

It’s a great idea. And the best part is it’s vaccination or testing, so all the prissy deniers can get tested weekly instead if vaccinated. But employers can require that the anti-vax assholes pay for the weekly tests — at $50-100 each!! Perfect solution.
