While the middle part of your post makes a lot of sense, the beginning and ending are ass backwards. Trumpism is not patriotism. It’s worship of Trump. The left will control America if Republicans do not abandon Trump as figurehead of the party and if Democrats like Biden continue to let the progressives call the shots.

Donald Trump is the reason Democrats control the Senate. If not for Trump and Trumpists, Jeff Flake would still be a Senator. If not for the big lie, David Perdue would still be a Senator.

Because Democrats control the Senate, some combination of the national debt and taxes will be trillions higher than they would otherwise. If Bernie Sanders,
chairman of the Senate Budget Committee gets his way, they’ll be 10 trillion higher as a result of bills that will be passed this year. And indeed America will be well on the way to become, as you put it, a third world welfare state. Actually third world might be an exaggeration. But based on France and other countries with systems that aren’t as radical as what the Progressives envision, maybe 25% or 30% lower GDP per capita versus what it would be otherwise might not be a bad estimate. That’s if the Progressives can stay in power for a long time.
