As we've seen over MANY decades, the Iranian leaders do not act sensibly in most cases. Yes, we sent a message. The impact of that message is yet to be seen.

Do you think it is healthy for highly classified briefings and internal discussions about national security to be discussed openly for the sole purpose of undermining a justly elected president. Do they wingnuts have no shame? They are disgusting, in an all encompassing way.
How do you know what the president was briefed? Is it the same sort of evidence that he extorted the ukrainians, and colluded with the Russians?
The people who are leaking this sort of information are disgusting, and blatantly fascist. The people who are propogating this information are hateful idiots. Not one of the claims put forth by the fascist thugs has held water. You would think the propogaters would learn, but then again, why would they care. Like the NYT's said, we served our purpose in trying to destroy Trump with the Russian thing, lets move on to the next smear.

Do you know options were presented to President Trump? Or is that what MSNBC told you? Your questions and the answers you give require a lot of mind reading and fortune telling. Personally, I don't believe you are up to the task.
Back to OP. About a week ago the Democratic Socialist Party and their media minions had a large portion of the US population thinking that WWIII had begun because Trump had taken a major player off the battlefield. The past week confirms the "Chicken Littling" made the Dims look like fools.

I do not know the options presented to Trump, or if options were presented at all. That is why I used the word "supposedly".
Everyone who is providing input in this thread is mind reading and fortune telling since NO ONE knows what Iran (and Iraq) will do long term. I doubt YOU are up to the task of predicting the future any better than I am.
I believe Iran will step back for a brief period of time and then continue doing what they have always done. There is already the possible threat of cyber attacks by Iran. The death of Soleimani will have little to no impact on their future behavior. The Iranian leaders may be crazy but they are not stupid. They know that in a real war with the U.S. they will finish in 2nd place and 2nd place is not a good place to be in a war.

As I said in another post -- "supposedly" is the key word I used.
"Pentagon officials offered US President Donald Trump a list of other, less severe options for dealing with escalating tensions with Iran, The New York Times reported on Saturday."
https://www.businessinsider.com/trum...leimani-2020-1
"Aides to US President Donald Trump reportedly did not expect him to approve the killing of Iran’s top general, which was presented to him as one of a range of options as a response to the killing of an American contractor and the storming of the US embassy in Baghdad by pro-Iranian protesters."
https://www.timesofisrael.com/given-...strike-report/
True? I don't know for certain but I would be willing to bet Trump was in fact given alternatives.
I do think Trump should explain the imminent threats that Iran posed against the U.S. which led him to decide to eliminate Soleimani. I agree with you that there is no need to share security discussions with the public.

It was not meant that way but you take things as you see them.
My question was legitimate and asked with no bias against Trump.
Yes, a message was sent to the leaders of Iran. How that message will play out is what my question was addressing. The impact won't be known in all likelihood for months.

The NYT's also reported that Trump colluded with the Russians, and extorted the Ukrainians. What do those links prove?
Again, can you explain to me why it is ok for those aids to sit down with the NYT and attempt(history would say unsuccessfully) to disseminate the debates and thought of the inner workings of our national security process?
Do you really think this it is a good idea to have the sorts of discussions out where the enemy can see the thought processes. Only a fascist thug who wishes to destroy the entity in charge of our country at any cost could come to that conclusion. I have some other followup questions when you answer these.

I provided 2 links because I expected some individuals to see "NY Times" and immediately reject the content. The 2nd link was from the Times of Israel. There are several other sources that say the same thing.
I sincerely doubt that Trump walked into a conference room full of his top advisers and immediately said we are going to use a drone to assassinate Soleimani. He was given options and chose one. Do you think otherwise?
The information on multiple options being given to Trump came out AFTER the killing. Right or wrong. I have not heard Trump complaining about the "leaking" of the information.

Kehaar, good buddy, overwhelming evidence continues to prove Trump conspired with Russia and extorted Ukraine. Hours and hours of testimony. Hundreds of thousands of documents.
Trumps story on the Iran generals has changed and evolved daily since the attack. Now, Obama is involved, according to the fat lying bastard.
The Great White South is a safe haven for loonies, liars and conspiracy theorists. Apparentlys so is ECCIE.

The "aides" said killing the terrorist was the most extreme option, and they were surprised that he chose that option.
1) He didn't choose that option by himself. He has a group of people he trusts that he values advice(all leaders do).
2) Killing the terrorist was not the most extreme option. An amateur could come up with 10 options more extreme than that.
3) The characterization of "secret" information by the leftist fascist thugs who have insuated themselves in the national security apparatus and the federal law enforcement apparatus, has been historically false. After all, they said Flynn had sold the Trump administration to the Russians, had colluded with the Russians to win the elections, and had extorted the Ukrainians to investigate the a fella who, by his own admission had gotten an investigator who was looking into his son, fired. These accusations have all been demonstrated to be without substantiation. They all disclosed the internal communications of our national security apparatus.
The people who do this sort of thing, as well as the people who use this distorted "knowledge" in an attempt to remove a rightfully elected president are hate-filled fascist thugs.
Did the Times of Israel propagate the Flynn, Russian Conspiracy, and Ukrainian Conspiracy lies. Yep.

As for your use of the word "assassinate" it discloses your patent bias against the decision and Trump, primarily because it is a lie! This military exercise against a military target was not an "assassination" by any stretch of an imagination except for Loons like you who don't know the difference.
As for "leaks" and "Trump's" attitude ... just because YOU didn't hear them (YOU who thinks the strike was an "assassination") doesn't mean SHIT ... and you using the word "leak" also shows your bias ....against the decision and Trump! The use of the word "leak" implies that a real person said a real fact .... again demonstrating your patent bias against the decision and Trump.
Did you listen to Trump's entire interview from yesterday?
BTW: Where is your thread of outrage over this ASSASSINATION?

Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki (born al-Aulaqi; 26 August 1995 –) was an American of Yemeni descent who was killed while eating dinner at an outdoor restaurant in Yemen by a drone airstrike ordered by U.S. President Barack Obama on 14 October 2011.

Who exactly is "we"? And who decides what is "sensibly"?
They certainly outsmarted Dumbass Obaminable and Kerry, et al!
Got billions of their dollars back from impounding by agreeing to a NO INSPECTION, NO TEETH FAKE MORATORIUM on their Missile based nuclear warhead program which expired just after those LOONS left office while sealing the fate of Israel and the Jews living there!
If a country wanted to dominate the region with blackmail and intimidation along with Eastern Europe they did a great job and certainly sensible. Thank God Congress didn't agree and making it a binding TREATY!!!! Now the chicken-shit LOONS want to blame Trump!

DPST's are all for giving Iran nukes to "balance the power" of the poor, oppressed mullahs in Iran.
See how long Israel puts up with that existential threat.
