I agree with Flinde. I see nothing wrong with what he said. The way I read it, he is offended that a provider doesn not feel safe with an AA hobbyist. She could have easily said she simply chose not to see AA hobbyist. The rest of what she wrote is the offending part.

Where did all the hate come from? From some of the comments I've read, seems like the only time it is OK for someone to feel offended racially is if that person belongs to that race which is the target of racism. Come on, ALL of us have been racially offended at some point in our lives. Hell, I faced all kinds of racial slurs when I was growing up as a kid because I am a mutt (i.e. you're a WOP because your mother is Italian. You're probably related to the Mob because you're Italian OR go back to Italy you greasehead (heard many times in NJ) or You're a hick because your dad is from Oklahoma, etc.).

Remember, both black and white men/women marched with MLK and continue to march to stand against racism for ALL races. Based on some of the posts I've read above (especially FL), he seems to believe that whites should not have marched with MLK or continue to be part of anti-racism rallys because afterall, they only wanted to beat their chest to prove how non-racist they are. I see nothing wrong with someone (no matter what their race is) wanting to stand up for something they feel is racially offensive.

FL .. like you said, if you don't like a post use the back button. You should take that to heart.

Oh and just to piss off Budman ... I do have lots of black friends. Brown ones too!

and amazingly - the DOD is still struggling to "change" people's personal values and attitudes through specialized little offices on the different bases and posts. Not sure about the other services, but the Air Force's weak attempts (annual training and you got sent there if someone didn't like you or what you said - or alcohol or drug problems) over the years has been called:

60s & 70s =====> Race Relations
70s & 80s =====> Human Relations
80s & 90s =====> Social Actions
90s & 00s =====> Life Skills

Look at what they are (were) called and try to imagine how well they were accepted.

Does anyone here really believe these kind of things will ever go away as long as their are human beings on this earth?

Ladies can advertise however they want to as far as I'm concerned. It is totally their business module and if you don't like it ----ignore her.. She could say "No Eskimos" here but I wouldn't think it would be wise to advertise that in Anchorage.

Well I know a white provider of eleven years has a 17 year ols mixed girl and all her boy friends are black SHE WILL NOT SEE BLACK GUYS NEVER IN HER JOB.
Not sure if that makes her man at the time feel safe or she knows she will never get emotional or caught up with a john if he is white. I am not sure what their reasoning behind the choice but SHE IS NOT RACIST.
As far as safety goes it could be the safety of her life as she knows it or hell it could be because of the resent poll taken 1 out of 8 black men carries the hiv virus. 1 out of 21 white men have it. Or hell she could of been raped by someone who was black and now it her mind she is not safe. Please be slow to anger or judge someone when you are not in their heads. OR NOT..
Thats what makes this country great and why people like this board they can pretty much say what they want as long as it does not involve drugs etc.....

I like these kinds of threads. I like seeing everyone get so worked up about one providers opinion on the internet. Who knows what her real personal views are. I also love the people that get worked up on the other side of it. All of this on both sides could get solved by hitting the back button on your browser. I read them because it makes for entertaining reading.

I actually am of the opinion that we should start threads like this more often. Carry on.
