regarding chinese researchers as spies. they have been doing it for awhile. their goal is to steal IP data from commercials & universities.

some of them turned out to be sleeper spies. there have been a few arrests of naturalized American-Chinese researchers stealing U.S secrets.

even more concerning is the the Communist Party sending its spies to every universities and establishing communist party offices there to keep watch on their own people on free soil.

Yeah the FBI, American companies, etc. should be alert for Chinese espionage. But at the rate we're going it's going to be like the 1950's with types like Joseph McCarthy leaving no stone unturned to root out the Chinamen. We should lighten up our Visa policies so that Chinese and other foreign science and engineering students can stay on, become citizens, and pursue lifelong careers here. We've benefited mightily from immigrants from places like China and India who've started companies and contributed to science and industry. Don't let the paranoia get out of control.

Tiny - in a perfect world- You have a point. I remember McCarthy. Some DPST's such as Nadler/Schiff are emulating him about Impeachment Evidence.

Defining sleeper agents from those who become real American citizens is difficult, if not impossible. it is my understanding Trump and XI have a face to face coming up re Trade.

Hopefully they can settle some issues.

Part of the issue is the Oriental "Face" - and Xi will not be seen as losing to Trump.
