If you are referring to the Prostate Specific Antigen test, yes and no. It has fallen out of favor these days. It is too sensitive and the thinking is that more harm is now being done from unnecessary treatment than from early and small tumors. The digital exam is still recommended and generally the PSA isn't, though the medical community isn't unanimous on that quite yet. Of course what to do if you have a positive digital exam is still very much dependent on individual circumstance, the inclinations of your oncologist/urologist, etc.
